Although we’d actually been shooting weddings for nearly six years when Sandee & Matt reached out to us about documenting their Boston nuptials, somehow in my mind, they are one of our first couples. And, as such, they hold a very special place in our hearts.

Part of that, I think, is because we instantly clicked with them. Theirs was also our first wedding of their season, so that may be it too. But, I think it was more because it really was love at first meeting with Sandee & Matt.

When we photographed their Cape Cod love session (aka engagement session) and they were so obviously smitten with each other, having fun, playing together and hamming it up for our cameras….even getting into the water at the end of the session….they totally won us over. And, we knew theirs was a relationship that would last; not just with each other, but with us, which is exactly how we like it.

Happily, we recently caught up with Sandee & Matt, and their two gorgeous children, Evan and Annie, during a family session here on the Cape. Matt’s parents and sister and her family also joined the party.

We met the gang at Corporation Beach, which was where we first photographed Matt & Sandee six happy years ago. Click HERE for a look at their first bello photo shoot. And, HERE for a look at their AAAHHHH-MAZING Boston Harbor Hotel wedding that followed.

It had been a while since we last saw everyone, so it was hard to not put down our cameras and just play with this amazing family. Somehow, we managed to do a bit of both. It is families like this one that remind us why we love what we do.

Without further ado, here’s a look at where life has taken Sandee & Matt and their wonderful family.

Matt & Sandee with their crazy cute lovebugs, Evan and Annie. Annie had this laugh, particularly at the start of our session, when I would chase or tickle her, that was deliciously infectious. She absolutely has her momma’s lovely disposition. I wish I could put her in my pocket and carry her around with me. She is delightful in every way.  And, Evan….the last time we saw him, he was much like his little sister. Now, he is a sweet, charming, wonderful little man…just like his amazing dad! Just love this family!

The whole gang: (from left to right) Caleb and Hannah with their mom & dad, Adam and Meagan (Matt’s beautiful sister), mom, Rayanne, and dad, Dan, with Matt, Sandee & crew.

Meagan & Adam with their sweet boos. Can we talk about Hannah’s bow headband for a second? I can’t even stand the off-the-chart cuteness!

Love this perspective as the family heads out of the beach grass for some play time…

Sweet Annie…the finger on the cheek…it’s just too much!

Precious Hannah….heading off into the beach grass jungle…

Chasing cousins….

Kisses & acrobatics.

A tender moment for father & son.

Hannah has her folks wrapped around her cute little fingers! And, who could blame them! She had us wrapped too, in just a few minutes.

I just want to eat little Annie up….deeeee-licious!

Meagan, Adam and the kids go for a seaside stroll….are they cute or what?

Evan leads his little sister on a stroll of their own…

Can we talk about the way Annie is looking at her big brother with such love & adoration? It just kills me!!!

Hannah’s enjoying her big brother stroll too….

Annie & Dad check out some seashells.

Evan was running along the shore and fell in….getting more than a little wet. It doesn’t look like he minds much. Love it!

Evan gives his gorgeous momma big wet kisses & cuddles. Melts this momma-lovin’ photographer’s heart!

Dan & Rayanne watch on with smiles & pride written all over their lovely faces.

Gorgeous, sweet, lovely Caleb.

I love this next photo of Evan neck deep in the water…fully clothed. It brings back such fond memories of my own childhood, when my sisters & I used to go to the beach with my dad (not to swim, but just to walk along the sand) and he’d tell us not to wade in too far. Slowly, and always surely, we’d end up in further than we should…and eventually this would happen. My dad would not be pleased, but my sisters and I were having too much fun to care.

If you checked out Sandee & Matt’s love session, you may have noticed a similar photo to this next one. Sandee & Matt were up for anything at their session so we had Matt lie in the wet sand at the shore, with the sunset reflecting off the water & wet sand. We asked them to just have a moment and the photos we got still remain some of my all time favorites. We decided to have them recreate the scene, but with the addition of their sweet babes joining the not-quite-as-sexy, but even more delightful, pig pile. I just love this photo for so many reasons.

Love this perspective as Caleb & Evan draw lines in the sand. And, Miss THANG Annie. Honestly, it’s too much this one!

Sandee & Matt, thank you both so much for reaching out to us again and sharing your amazing family with us…all of them. We love you guys and loved getting to spend some time with you all again and have your gorgeous faces (and butts 🙂 ) back in front of our cameras! As always, we had a blast and hope you did too. We also hope that our time together was as much about capturing great images as it was creating lasting memories. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!! With big love & hugs, Chris & Andy xoxoxo PS..we’d like to send a special shout out to Sandee’s Dad, Dave, who recently returned home after major surgery. Dave you are in our thoughts. Sending lots of love & healing wishes your way!!
