I love when I get the opportunity to reconnect with a family I haven’t seen in a while. I can hardly believe it because it doesn’t feel that long ago, but the last time I saw Julie & Greg was 11 years ago, when I photographed the fabulous Wequassett wedding of their daughter Kim. Andy & I had so much fun with Kim and Jamie! We loved being there witnessing and documenting all of the love and happy celebration. Click HERE for a look at our time together.

Over the years, I kept in touch with the family kept through holiday cards. And, I was able to follow Kim & Jamie and Kim’s super sweet sister, Sara, and the growth of their families via social media, which truly, is the only reason I’m on social media. Despite it’s downside, social media lets me keeps me connected to people I wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity to stay connected to. But, getting to see them all in the flesh again and meet their kiddos was such a treat! We met up a couple of weeks ago at a beach they like in Chatham. The family was together for a week at a rental house nearby. It was no doubt a challenge to coordinate schedules and have everyone gather together for a week. But, they did it and wanted to document their together time. I was very happy to oblige!

These past few years have been tough…for everyone, I think. There were huge gaps of time where we didn’t get to see or spend time with the ones we love most, and now…feeling somewhat distanced from those early scary days (and years), it’s so great to see families vacationing together again. Grandparents getting to spend quality time with their grandkids again…cousins becoming besties again….it’s just so so heartwarming.

Here are a few of my favorite moments and photos from my time with these wonderful people…beginning where it all began, with Kim and Jamie, now joined by their adorable kiddos ~ Lily & Sawyer.

Kim & Jamie reenacting their e-session days…a little older, wiser and more in love than ever. And, adorable Lily, who looooves the camera almost as much as the woman behind it loooooves photographing kiddos.

Sweet Sara, hubby Chris, and their beautiful brood, including shy Cash (in his momma’s loving arms), plus big sis, Hope, and baby brother, Shea.

Just love this sweet moment of these three. It’s clear how much Cash loves his big sis…just love that for them!! Meanwhile, baby Shea is wondering why all of the adults standing behind the lady with the camera are dancing and making silly noises (in an effort to elicit some smiles from these three). Thanks guys!! It worked!!

The many silly faces of sweet Sawyer…

Lily giving her little cousin a hand…watching my own nieces and nephews get to be together the one or two times per year that it happens, it’s become clear to me how important these beautiful bonds are to kiddos. Just love seeing that special brand of love play out in families.

Brothers….can you stand the smiles? So stinking cute!

Cash giving a cheeky smile to the camera after racing down the beach and beating his siblings and cousins….winning!

The pic on the right is one of the races we had and what kills me about this particular photo is apparently Shea thought it was the perfect time for a poop. Toddlers…am I right?!! Hanging with his Papa Greg.

Cousins….these are the days you’ll remember! Be still my heart….

Momma Julie and her baby girls. And, Kim and her baby girl…love the reflection in the tidal pool.

Lily horsing around with her momma. This sweet girl loves the camera and I gotta say, I don’t mind one bit!!!!

Julie & Greg and the grandkiddos….preciousness!

Julie, thank you so much for reaching out to do this session and thank you for taking time out of your vacation to hang with me! I absolutely loved our time together and hope you all did too! I also hope these photos serve as happy reminders of this fleeting time. In my own family, it feels like we went from having babies and young kiddos to them being teenagers and looking at colleges in just a blink…like a quick blink! I just love that you made it a priority to document this time together and I so soooo appreciate you choosing me to do it for you all! Just know, I’d love to do it again….anytime!!

With big love & hugs to all, Christine xoxoxo
