If you visit this blog regularly, you’ll absolutely recognize this adorable family, whom we’ve been fortunate enough to have in our lives for the past 14 years, since we first photographed Aimee & Rick’s engagement session…right down the sand bar from where we met them for their recent family session.

We were there for there Ridge Club wedding in 2008. I photographed their oldest daughter, Tess, when she first came on the scene, as just a wee little rosebud. And over the years, we’ve gathered again to do regular family sessions….opportunities for these lovely people to gather, be in the moment and document the fleeting passage of time.

Here’s a look at our most recent gathering….starting with the stars of the family, Tess and her little brother Brooks. Love these peanuts.

Brooks has had a rough start to his life, having been born with a pretty severe cleft palate, which has required more surgeries than anyone his age should have had to endure. And still….he is a happy, smiling, beautiful little soul. Always enjoy getting together with him.

Tess is a bright, warm, funny, curious girl, with an infectious smile that brightens everything and everyone around her.

The past 18 months have been challenging for many families, and yet….as awful as it was, the pandemic also provided a rare opportunity for concentrated togetherness, the kind that, at least in this case, causes siblings to grow even closer. The bond these two share is quite special and really heart-warming to be around.

Brooks just loves his big sis, Tess. And, the camera loves them both! Doesn’t Tess look like she ought to be in some Cape Cod beach-inspired surfer magazine? And bonus….she’s as lovely inside as she is so obviously outside.

Checking out the jetty and more hugs….swoon.

Aimee and her babies…

Rick’s turn…

Daddy’s and their little girls…am I right?

Similarly….Daddy’s and their little boys. lol.

Families that play together, stay together.

Kisses and snuggles for mom.

Hand in hand, together in love, always.

Jumping into the new school year with excitement.

Thank you Aimee and Rick for once again allowing us to document your precious family, here in a place that means so much to all of you. It was so great seeing you all and hope these photos serve as happy reminders of this time and place in your family’s life. And, may this be the beginning of a return to more togetherness. Big love & hugs, Christine & Andy xo
