One of the gifts of our profession is that we get to see love manifest in a lot of different ways. Every now and then, (though it seems to be happening a lot lately) a very special brand of love crosses our path. Even before spending any significant time together, we get a sense of just how special their love is when our couple sends us back our Getting To Know You questionnaire and the two page form is now transformed to six pages filled with lots of wonderful sharing about why, what and how they love each other.
It’s as if they just can’t hold back how much they love each other and the opportunity to share that becomes another celebration of their love.
Such was the case with Jenn & Jordan. Right from the first question, Jenn & Jordan let the flood gates open and shared with us (often using all caps :)) how they met and how love quickly took hold.
In the summer of 2012, Jennifer was asked to come back home to Cape Cod, to work at Cape Cod Hospital as an ultrasound sonogropher. Jordan was also working there as a radiologists’ assistant. Friends and coworkers had been telling Jennifer and Jordan about the other, though they didn’t meet until they were finally scheduled to do a procedure together.
As soon as Jordan walked in the room and he locked eyes with Jenn, there was instant chemistry and both began to blush. Jordan began talking with their patient as Jenn performed the ultrasound.
“He was very professional, although appeared nervous,” Jenn told us, and she wondered, ‘Is he always like this?’
A nurse in the room later told Jenn that she had never seen Jordan so flustered and thought he might have a crush. She also explained that unfortunately Jordan had just accepted a new job in Connecticut and today was his last day on the Cape.
At the end of the day, Mary Ellen, one of the nurses that both Jordan and Jenn loved and trusted, told them that everyone from work was meeting up after their shift for drinks and they should both join them. As it turned out, “everyone” meant just Jenn & Jordan. Although it was a bit awkward to start, the seed of love had definitely been planted and the two arranged to meet again for a proper date.
Jordan made plans to drive from Connecticut to take Jenn out to dinner on the Cape. Right before they were supposed to meet, Jordan called Jenn to say he was sorry, but he was going to be a little late and could they meet in an hour.
“I thought, Great, he’s late on the first date…not a good sign. Red Flag,” Jenn told us. But, when Jordan arrived, he had a bandage on his head and explained that he had been in a ‘small car accident.’ It was no big deal, he said, but that’s why he was late.
“I felt so bad that I was just judging him on his tardiness, when the poor guy got into a car accident,” Jenn told us.
After dinner, as they were walking outside to their cars, Jenn noticed Jordan’s front windshield was blown out on the driver’s side.
“Jordan failed to tell me he WENT THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD, spoke to the police, denied medical attention, bandaged himself up and then drove to the restaurant with his windshield in pieces and blown out where his head went through,” Jenn said. “I couldn’t believe he would go through all of that just to take me out on a date.”
“I knew this guy was either A) just plain crazy or B) cray about me,” she said. “Luckily, it was option number two. I’m a lucky girl!”

Jordan told us that for him, it was love at first sight. “Meeting Jenn at the hospital on my last day was the best day of my work life. Jenn thought we were just going to be a summer fling, but I knew that we were meant to be way more than that,” he said.
Jordan drove back to Cape Cod every weekend after that first date, just to take her out to dinner and spend a few hours together. “The way Jenn was always up front and never played a game made me fall even more in love,” he said. “When I stared my new job working the overnights in Connecticut, Jennifer was so worried about me. It was a hard transition and Jennifer made it an easy shift. Just hearing her voice on the phone before I went into work and before I went to sleep made everything okay. She is my everything.”

We got together with these two love birds, back on the Cape where it all started. We met at the Knob in Falmouth, where Jenn & Jordan used to enjoy taking walks together, or picnic. Getting to be around love like this…the kind you can feel radiating off of them….is so wonderful for Andy & me. We first met twenty years ago…it feels crazy saying that because I swear it feels like just yesterday, and yet also like a lifetime ago. But, getting to be around people like Jordan & Jenn, who love so big and with their hearts wide open really does help remind us of what’s important in life and love, which, if you’re not careful, can be easy to forget when you’re with the same person for so long.

When we asked Jenn & Jordan what they love most about each other, their answers were much the same. Jenn: “I love how big Jordan’s heart is. He would do anything for anyone he knows, even if they were just an acquaintance. It’s just the type of person he is. Jordan is my safe…I know that sounds crazy, but he’s the only person in the world that I know will have my back no matter what. He’s my rock.” Jordan: “I love how much Jennifer loves and cares for others. She’s my everything.” And you can see this connection just in the way they are together. It’s so lovely!

You’ve got me. And, I’ve got you…

And, even being nervous about being photographed, you could see the way they rely on each other, lean on each other, and hold tightly to that special thing that just makes them work! And, the cute way they giggle together is pretty darned awesome too!

Lots of smiles and giggles and big beautiful LOVE!

Sunset at a special picnic spot. Here in the arms of the one you love. This is as good as it gets!!!

In your eyes…I see myself, my future, my everything.

Da bling…

I’m pretty sure Pharrell wrote, “Happy” with moments like this in mind!!! I hear it in my head when I look at their faces!! Just wonderful!!

Cute, cute, and more cute!!!

This wasn’t THE rowboat, but two years after that meeting in the hospital, Jordan took Jenn away for a weekend in Mystic, Connecticut to celebrate two years together and suggested they rent a rowboat. It was there on the water, just the two of them that Jordan asked Jenn to marry him. She, of course, said, “Yes!” and as he rowed back to the dock, Jennifer & Jordan’s families were there waiting for them to celebrate the night together.

Jenn & Jordan will take that yes and turn it into a couple of “I dos!!” later this summer in Chatham and we cannot wait!!!!

The sun may be setting in this next photo, but it’s just rising on their love story and we are so excited to get to be a part of documenting this most auspicious chapter!!!

Jenn & Jordan, thank you so very much for such a wonderful afternoon/evening and for entrusting us with capturing who you both are and the beautiful love you share!! We are so excited to meet your families & friends and get to be there with you when you commit your hearts and lives to one another!!! We just know it’s going to be an amazing day of love & joyful celebration!!! Until then, we hope you enjoy this little sneak peek of how we see you two and your inspiring love!! More to follow soon!! Big love & hugs, Chris & Andy xoxo
