The night before your wedding is almost as exciting as the wedding day itself. All of the little craft projects, never ending To Do lists and chores that go along with planning a wedding are done and it’s time to relax, greet family & friends and take in the magnitude of the moment.
You and your best friend will be married in just a few hours. The months of planning and years of searching for the right person have let to this moment. And, although there are no guarantees, with eyes wide open, you’re both taking the leap of faith that is marriage…the commitment to work together, to stand by each other, in good times and in bad and for all of the forgettable moments in between.
It really is an awesome thing and the rehearsal dinner is like the launching off point for the celebration that will follow those two teeny, but incredibly important words, “I do!”
We joined Avery & Tommy at their rehearsal dinner a few weeks ago at the Jonsson Center in Woods Hole, on a bluff overlooking Quissett Harbor and Buzzards Bay, the perfect setting for these two, who grew up on the water.

It was a fabulous evening and provided a great opportunity for us to meet some of the people nearest and dearest to them, while capturing some candid moments of folks enjoying themselves. Here are a few of our favorite moments from the evening:
Super cute tent by Sperry & flowers in pink perfection by one of our favorites…Courtney’s Floral Creations.

Tommy greets family arriving. Is that a happy groom-to-be or what?

Mothers of the bride & groom, Meg & Susie share a giggle with some other guests. Yay! for mommas who do so much to help make their kids’ big day extra special.

Tommy’s crazy cute Grandma shares a laugh with Tommy’s dad and Avery’s Grandma, while other family& friends say hello.

Our blushing bride to be…

details, details, detail….

One of the things I find so special about weddings is how they are one of the very few times in our lives when everyone we love most in the world comes together. Honestly, I wish I could have a wedding every five years. What do you say, honey?

We love photographing rehearsal dinners because it’s they’re all about capturing moments and details. We just sit back and watch and document, being reminded with every click of the shutter how beautiful life really is.

What beats eating out doors on a beautiful summer night? Getting to do it with your favorite people in the world, the night before you marry your best friend. Yup! That’ll do it.

There were lots of wonderful, funny, heart-felt speeches during the night, but Avery’s sisters, Caroline & Wally, took the cake for best props.

Hugs & toasts and lots of love.

Tommy’s brother, George, reacts with friends to a recording Avery’s grandmother, JeJe, made to play for the couple at the rehearsal dinner. It was as fabulous as George’s expression suggests!

The evening was a rousing success and the perfect prelude to the wedding that followed. Stay tuned for another post on that soon. Big thanks to Avery & Tommy, and to your parents for including us in the rehearsal dinner and allowing us to be a part of preserving these and other fabulous memories we hope you & your families are able to relive for many happy years to come. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Big love & hugs, Chris & Andy xoxo
