Two weeks ago, I had the pleasure of once again reuniting with these two beautiful women…after our last get together back in September, when Erin’s sister, Kristin, one of our bello brides from the early years, called to ask if we were available to photograph her extended family.
During that family session, I had such fun photographing Erin & Gerri, who were recently engaged. And, I was so excited when they called me afterwards to ask if I would photograph their wedding. Um….yes, please!!!
Erin & Gerri’s love story began like so many couples today…they met through online dating. Although the pandemic was devastating in so many ways, it also provided some unexpected blessings. For Erin & Gerri, it offered an opportunity to spend some real quality time together…just the two of them.
“As terrible as the pandemic has been, one thing that it did was allow us to have time together without many of life’s pressures,” Erin told me. “Erin came into my life at the exact moment I opened my heart. The universe brought us together and I couldn’t be happier,” Gerri added.
For their wedding, these two beautiful women opted to said, “I do!” in the backyard of Erin’s lovely parents’ home here on Cape Cod. It was a hot, sunny, perfect summer day and Erin’s dad, Gary, performed the ceremony at the end of their dock, with Erin & Gerri’s moms, Paula and Roberta, standing at their side. Gerri and Erin’s siblings, nieces and nephews also gathered nearby in love and support. It was a perfect way to wed and I absolutely loved being there to witness and document.
Here’s a sneak peek at their beautiful day of love and commitment, starting with some of Gerri & Erin’s favorite people and their handsome fur baby, Buckman.

Adorable brothers Owen & Kevin goofing around pre ceremony.

Here come the brides….Gerri & Erin…

Erin’s nieces, Madeline and Sadie, along with their sisters (back) Caroline & Charlotte, serenaded the brides before they exchanged vows.

Taking it all in with full hearts….

We gather here today….

In love and joyful celebration, to commit our hearts and lives to one another….

With this kiss, I thee wed.

We did it….A group hug to acknowledge the moment, and congrats from sweet Sadie.

We did it….yaaaay!

LOVE….is love. And these two have loads.

That feeling…when you stare into your person’s eyes and you know you are home.

Erin & Gerri wanted to celebrate their nuptials with a quick paddle.

Their nieces gathered at the end of the pier to watch, making bets on who would fall in first. lol.

The boys, Kevin and Owen, got in on the smack talk too, cheering and goading their aunties on. Happily everyone stayed dry.

A heart shaped rock…solid and true, just like Erin & Gerri’s love.

Sweet Mister Buckman posing for some photos and hoping he is rewarded with lunch scraps.

Erin & Gerri gave all of their family members the most epic swag bags I’ve ever seen. They were packed full of goodies, including monogrammed towels. Charlotte was VERY happy about hers.

They received some gifts of their own, including this beautiful family photo of Gerri, her little brother Barry, and her mom, Roberta. Gerri’s reaction when she opened it was priceless.

Placed in an heirloom frame, I suspect this will earn a special place in their home. So lovely.

With the wedding festivities over, the gang prepares for the beach….watching little Owen apply sunscreen might just have been my favorite part of the day. Not really….but it was pretty good.

Erin’s parents have had a rough year, both having to navigate some health issues. But, that doesn’t keep them from smiling. Instead, I think it has highlighted how much they love their family and each other. Being around that kind of love….it’s a gift. And one I don’t take for granted.

Fulfilling his JP duties, Gary signs the marriage license, with Gerri & Erin happily looking on….making it officially official.

The new Mrs. and Mrs……aren’t they sweet?!
Thank you Erin & Gerri for choosing to share such a special day with me. I hope the rest of your wedding day was as enjoyable as the start and I hope you two enjoy a long, happy married life together….with many more afternoons filled with family togetherness. With big love & hugs, Christine xoxo
