Kate & Hugh’s Woods Hole Wedding ~ Cape Cod Wedding Photographers

Despite their size difference, Kate & Hugh are one of those couples that when you see them together, it’s hard to deny that they just FIT together…..and I mean, fit perfectly! They share the same sense of fun, abundant love for one another, and a sincere passion for living life to its fullest.

Their wedding, at Kate’s family’s summer home in Woods Hole, was a true reflection of those things they hold most dear. It was also quite a party! With 400 guests, a 28-person bridal party and dancing that seemed like it might never stop…it was a day filled with love & happy celebration! It was so wonderful to watch Kate’s parents, Nancy & Craig, beam with pride over their baby girl and the union they so obviously supported, all while throwing a party of Great Gatsby-like proportions. It truly was an amazing day, and, Andy & I were honored to have been there to document all of that joyful exaltation!

Here’s a peek at their F A B U L O U S wedding:

Kate’s stunning Monique Lhullier wedding gown and make up by the talented Katrina Hess. Hair by the fabulous Marisa Marino of Stilisti Salon.

Simply gorgeous! And, that happy expression was the one she was wearing all day long!

Sexy hot pink Christian Dior shoes and some seriously sexy bling to match! Looove!

Kate’s super sweet momma, Nancy, was beaming (and getting a little welled up) with pride and love for her sweet girl, as she sees her dressed and ready to marry her best friend.

The excitement builds….

Kate’s besties react to seeing their gorgeous friend…

Meanwhile, down the road a bit, Hugh gets dressed and ready with his favorite guys. Part of his wedding wear included these cufflinks that belonged to his grandfather and namesake, former Governor of New York Hugh Carey.

Looking good in his custom-designed Vineyard Vine tie, featuring flags with his & Kate’s initials.

Thumbs up to the cool ties….

Having some fun with his mates…

Hugh arrives in style for the ceremony, then takes a moment for a quick photo with his guys, including his best man and little brother, Donnie.

Kate & her proud papa, Craig, ready to enter the church….love these emotional expressions. Weddings are so freaking awesome!

I love this photo and the appropriate symbolism of the past, the present and the future depicted in the reflections seen in the church doors.

Giving away his baby girl….LOOOVE! Seriously, be still my daddy-lovin’ heart!

And embracing his new son……more love!!!

The love & laughter, oh how it did flow….

Hugh & Kate’s flower girls were crazy cute and really getting into the ceremony….

As a surprise to their guests, Hugh & Kate delivered the communion during their wedding mass. So lovely.

The new Mr. & Mrs.! Yaaahoooo! (if only people would put down their cell phones and bask in the glory of the moment!

Hugh is a little too tall for the car they made their get-away in. Watching him try to squish in was precious….almost as much as Kate’s face as she watched in delight.

The happy couple….

We went to the house Hugh’s dad had rented to do some photos, but first, a little snack for our newly married couple….I really LOVE candid moments like these. Totally my faves.

A vision…..

The old house has such character…and Kate’s stunning dress suited it perfectly.

Heading down to the gardens for photos….

Jumping for joy….

Hugh’s guys and his girl…..so fun!

Our sweet couple….

Love and a pink, heart-shaped bush….it was meant to be! Seriously…a pink, heart shaped bush! It’s like it was made for this moment!

Hot pink and ready to party….

Hugh & Kate and their bridal party sailed over to the reception, captained by Kate’s dad….does this look like an ad for Ralph Lauren or what??

As they approached the party, Hugh & Kate released some balloons…..letting their love rise to the heavens. Ahhhhh….

Meanwhile, a staff of several dozen from The Catered Affair prepared for dinner, canopied beneath a gorgeous Sperry Tent, with flowers by the incomparable Winston Flowers.

Love this super sweet basket-weave cake by Icing on the Cake.

One of Hugh & Kate’s signature drinks…..looks as good as their guests. Hello sexies!

Cocktail hour candid moments…my faves.

Hugh’s beautiful momma, Pam, digs in to the raw bar.

As Hugh & Kate make their arrival to the reception, greeted by lots of happy waves.

Trying to corral 400 people was no easy feat…but we did it. Wooo hooo!

Yay for love…and for Hugh & Kate!

This is what I strive for…..love like this, after so many years. Truly, is there anything more beautiful?

An entrance for the ages…..you go gurls!

Kate & Hugh’s dance had all of the fun, flair and love you’d expect from these two. And, their guests ate it up!

The final twirl….delightful!

Kate & Hugh’s party kicked off straight away, with our happy couple joining The Sultans of Swing for a bar or two of song! So awesome!

The sun sets as dinner is served….so Great Gatsby!

I had to grab my tripod when I saw this moment, as one of the flower girls, dances on her own during dinner. Like a fairytale come to life!

And, a little while later the party kicked into high gear with some Vineyard Vines inspired limbo. Kate & Hugh provided a ton of ridiculously fun hats for their guests to play with…LOVE!! Check out Cheesburger head following up his wife for some limbo action. AMAZEBALLS!

“Hey sharky, I wanna eat you up”….so playful & fun! Thanks guys!

Fun! Fun! Fun!

The night ended as high as one can, with Hugh & Kate taking center stage and leading one of the most amazing renditions of Journey’s Don’t Stop Believing. I love this view of them in embrace, as their friends & family cheer them on! Just wonderful!

Kate & Hugh…what can we say?! Your wedding was just so incredible, with memories made that will surely last a lifetime! Thank you so much (and thank you Nancy & Craig) for inviting us in and allowing us to be a part of all of that wonderful love & celebration! We had so much fun and hope these photos serve as happy reminders of all of the fun you so obviously had for many happy years to come! More to come soon!! Special thanks too to Jen from Pink Polka Dot Events for being amazing and also to Kat Hanafin for helping us capture some of the fabulous details and happy exchanges during cocktail hour. With lots of love & big hugs, Christine & Andy xoxo

Erin & Griffin’s Orleans wedding ~ Cape Cod photographers

Erin & Griffin’s wedding was the kind of wedding I’d want if Andy & I were going to do ours over again.

Their intimate ceremony was held at Fort Hill, a stunning overlook in Eastham that is part of the National Seashore. They made their vows to one another, surrounded by their inner circle of immediate family & closest friends. The sun was shining, the air crisp with the scent of fall. And, after the “I do’s” and champagne toast on the bluff, they headed back to Griffin’s parents’ home in Orleans for an intimate catered dinner.

It was simplicity at its best! As we like to say here at bello….simply beautiful!

Cathy, Griffin’s stepmom, had first called us about photographing the wedding after a friend of hers from Santa Fe, a former Newsweek/Times photojournalist, had stumbled across our website and gave us the thumbs up. The honor in that endorsement was majorly humbling.

I first got serious about photography while working for a small newspaper as a reporter/news editor. Although most of my job involved telling stories with words, I was often given photo assignments and quickly gained enormous appreciation for photojournalism and for the photographers like Steve Heaslip, who I’d often work alongside. Although he probably never realized it, Steve was hugely influential in my desire to pursue photography full-time. I was so inspired by him and his seemingly innate ability to turn the ordinary into something extraordinary, with interesting angles & perspectives. His photographs turned everyday subjects into powerful imagery that told a story…without words. The challenge of that intrigued me…and continues to motivate me in my work.

So, these many years later, to have  Cathy’s friend, such an accomplished photojournalist, be drawn to our work is a huge compliment. (Please pass along our thanks to your friend, Cathy! And, thank you Steve for the early motivation/inspiration.)

It wasn’t until July that we finally got to meet Erin & Griffin. They were on the Cape visiting family, but live in Baltimore, Maryland.

We had such a great meeting and loved getting to know these two kind, sweet, loving, humble people. They told us they wanted their wedding to be casual, intimate and simple, with the focus squarely on the commitment they were making to one another and the new chapter they were embarking on in their lives together. The focus was squarely where it should be and we were super excited to be a part of their celebration.

Erin & Griffin’s Cape Cod wedding plans moved into high gear when they happily discovered they were expecting a baby. Their little boo will make his/her debut in December. Holla from one Sagittarian to another!

Here’s a look at some of our favorite photos from their day…

The first look. Excitement & happiness make for a great combination!

Happiness is…that moment when it hits you, “This is the person I’m about to commit my life to, and lucky me, they’re also my best friend.”

Griffin’s dad put a lot of hard work into renovating his gorgeous Asian inspired yard for the wedding. Lovin’ the bamboo backdrop for our happy couple.

After a few pics at the house, we headed to Fort Hill in Eastham for the, “I dos!”

How’s that for a view?

Sealed with a kiss…and two become one (or in this case, three…wooooo hoooo!)

The whole gang (from left to right) Griffin’s dear friends Sung Woo, Lisa & their son Greyson; Erin’s brother Steele, mom, Karen and Dad, Gary, traveled from North Carolina for the nuptials; Griffin’s mom, Jan, dad, Paul, stepmom, Cathy, and sister Amy; along with Erin’s bestie, Beth.

happy, happy, happy.

Just love the expression of complete contentment & love on Erin’s gorgeous face as Griffin tenderly grabs hold of his new bride. Yaaaay for love!

Chatting as we head to the next area for pics…so cute!

Oh glorious beach tress and yellow wildflowers, how thy doth love tho!

beachy heaven…

Love, love, love this perspective, made lovelier by Erin & Griffin’s wonderful expressions!

Bluff-tastic!

Back to the house for cocktails and dinner, but first Mr. Murphy needs a walk and a little TLC. Such a sweet ole’ fella!

A table fit for a King & Queen…with flowers by Patrice Milley and dinner by Chef Andrej Klimovsky.

Cathy, thank you so much for finding us and putting your faith in us. We hope these photos are everything you’d hoped for! And, to Erin & Griffin, thank you so much for sharing such an intimate exchange and celebration with us. We loved getting to know you both and being able to bear witness to your beautiful ceremony! We hope these photos serve as happy reminders of this exciting time in your lives for many, many love-filled years to come! Please keep us posted on baby R. Wishing you all a lifetime of happiness! Big love & hugs, Christine & Andy xoxo

Avery & Tommy’s Woods Hole Wedding ~ Cape Cod Wedding Photographers

A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of being a part of Avery & Tommy’s Woods Hole wedding. Theirs was the kind of wedding that anyone who wants to get married on Cape Cod dreams about. It was, simply put…perfection.

The ceremony was held at the picturesque village church, The Church of the Messiah, in Woods Hole, with the reception immediately following at Avery’s grandmother’s oceanfront Penzance Point home.

Avery & Tommy traveled in style to their reception aboard the family’s vintage-inspired Commuter Express Launch, Comet. And, the party that followed was epic. Andy & I have never seen so many people on a dance floor at once. At one point, the elevated tent floor was bouncing so hard to the beat of dancing feet I wondered if it might come down. Happily, it did not, but the Swings of Sultan sure did bring down the house.

Here are a few of our favorite moments from Avery & Tommy’s AH-MAZING wedding:

The lovely Emma Josselyn gets Avery bride ready…not that she needed much help.  B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L!

Classic nautical styling to Avery & Tommy’s wedding invitations by Thornwillow.

Avery & Tommy’s flower girl, Anna, gives high fives to the beautiful bridemaids, including Avery’s sisters, Wally & Caroline. Just love how the gorgeous flowers by Courtney’s Floral Creations perfectly compliment the girls’ peachy JCrew dresses.

Avery gets some help putting on her elegant JCrew wedding gown by her sweet momma, Meg.

While her girls react. Love their expressions of approval. Ahhhhh.

Across town, Tommy & his mates chill out before the ceremony.

Avery gave all of her besties monogrammed gold necklaces from Mark and Graham, which were a huge hit!

A fun perspective as Wally puts on hers.

Tommy gave all of his guys monogrammed shirts, and in return, they gave him a fabulous morning of laughter and good cheer.

I was head-over-heels for Avery’s lacy Stewart Weissman shoes. Her something blue could be found in her wedding band and bracelet borrowed from mom.

I don’t know what it is exactly I love about this portrait of Tommy’s brother, George, but I am crazy for it. It just feels so full of anticipation for things to come.

The guys…

Avery & her girls get ready to head to the church…

Can we talk about the look of awe on sweet Anna’s face as she watches the older girls prepare to walk down the aisle? precious!

Avery & her proud papa, Jeff, arrive and are ready to make their way down the aisle. Such a dramatic moment.

Here comes the bride…as her happy groom waits her arrival at the altar.

The look of love.

Their commitment sealed with a kiss.

The new Mr. & Mrs. Yaaaay!!!

Down to the beach for a few photos with the girls.

Photos are over, now it’s time to have some fun…

Chillin’ during their own private cocktail hour.

Then off to the boat for their grand entrance to the reception. Loooove the light in this next one.

On board the Comet, time for a quick kiss…

Captain Jeff and the setting sun…

Avery & Tommy wave to their guests.

Setting off the Comet’s cannon to announce their arrival, as friends & family wave them in.

Happy and ready to party….

Some more beautiful floral arrangements by Courtney.

Details, details, details…

Their first dance…

Way to wrap it up, Tommy!

I’m not sure who’s crazy Uncle this guy was, but he sure did bring some fun energy to the party, flipping any unsuspecting woman who got too close! We saw a lot of leg that night! Wooo hooo!

Honestly, we’ve never seen people having so much fun on the dancefloor as they did at Avery & Tommy’s wedding.

The perfect ending to a perfect day.

As things wound down, Avery & Tommy slipped out, and sailed off into the night. Ahhhhh

Big thanks to all of the vendors who made our job such a joy. We adore you all and feel so lucky to get to work with such amazingly talented folks! Big, big thanks to Avery & Tommy for inviting us into your lives and sharing such an important day with us. Your family & friends are wonderful and getting to bear witness to all of the love & joyful celebration was such a treat! We wish you both many happy years together and hope these photos serve as happy reminders of your amazing wedding here on beautiful Cape Cod. With love & hugs, Chris & Andy xoxo
