Maryellen & Kevin’s Mashpee Family Session

Spending time with our families is super important to Andy & me. Our moments together aren’t nearly often enough, so when we do gather, we savor our time with one another.

Recognizing how important family time is for so many, we find it an honor & a happy privilege to be invited to document gatherings for some really warm, wonderful, incredibly loving families, who open their hearts and lives to us and ask us to preserve the fleeting moments of togetherness in photographs.

We were recently asked to photograph an afternoon of togetherness for one such family. Maura & Patrick had reached out to us to photograph Maura’s family during their time together in Mashpee. We actually met Maura & Patrick a few years ago, when they were planning their Cape Cod wedding, but it didn’t work out that we could be there to capture that happy celebration.

So, we were thrilled when they reached out to us again more recently to photograph Maura’s side of the family and also her and Patrick’s new little bundle of love, Cullen.

Please say hello to Patrick, Maura, baby Cullen and their crazy cute fur baby, Riley. We met these guys at Maura’s parent’s beautiful New Seabury home. Her dad, Kevin, watches as we photograph his growing family…

Babies change everything and make family life so much richer. I think these happy, albeit slightly sleep-deprived new parents would agree.

Who’s a happy boy? Cullen is…that’s who!

Nighty night sweet pea!

We actually got to meet Maura’s baby sister, Katherine, and her fiance, Dan, months before the session, when we got together with them to discuss their plans for their Wychmere wedding next summer. Happily, we are able to be there for this exciting family milestone! Wooo hooo! Say, “Hi!” to Dan & Katherine….are they adorable or what?

They were so nervous about being photographed they kept giggling….

Which besides making me totally giggle, also makes for some super cute exchanges!! Just adore these two! Cannot wait for their e-session later this fall!

Katherine & Maura’s super sweet parents, Maryellen and Kevin….the proud grandparents to baby Cullen. It must be so wonderful as parents to watch your kids grow and blossom, to stretch out their wings and take flight in life, to bring more life and love to the family. Just can’t imagine how wonderful that feels, but their faces say it’s pretty wonderful!

The whole gang, including Maura & Katherine’s super sweet sister, Megan, who was a total trooper wheeling onto the dock and down to the beach. Thanks Megan…you rock!

Sisterly love!! As one of three sisters myself, this sister is one I wish I had of my two sisters now that we’re all grown up. Hey Deb & Kim…what do you say we make this happen!!??

Cannot wait for more giggles with you, Katherine & Dan!! Thank you most especially Maura & Patrick for making our gathering possible and for reaching out to us again! It means a lot that you kept us in mind after all this time and that we were finally able to have your beautiful faces and most especially your beautiful babe in front of our cameras! Cullen is a total lovebug! Looking forward to photographing you all again soon! With big love & hugs, Christine & Andy

Amy, Todd & Family on Cape Cod ~ Falmouth Family Photographers

I’ll never forget Amy & Todd’s wedding. It was early October 2005, our third year shooting weddings, and we were still pretty green. It was one of those freakishly hot days…so hot that I could feel the sweat dripping down my back while crouched in the front of the church, searching for the best angle, while staying as unobtrusive as possible.

But, it wasn’t the heat, or the early nerves that made Amy & Todd’s wedding so memorable.  It’s how happy they were, how much fun they were having on the dance floor with their friends, who, by the way, were amazing and so warm & welcoming to us! I’ll never forget the look on Todd’s mom’s face just before the ceremony or the way Amy’s dad held her tight during their special dance. I’ll never forget staring that kind of love in the face and knowing it would last.

It was in all ways….a perfect day!

Right from our first meeting with Amy  & Todd, we knew we wanted to be in their lives long after their “I dos!” had been said. Happily, the friendship we felt when we first met these two smart, funny, creative,  kind, super cool people has, like their marriage….stood the test of time. We’ve seen them a few times over the years, meeting their crazy cute little boos, Max, Shea & the newest addition…Griffin.

Sadly, like with all of our friends, we don’t get together as often as we’d like. During the summer, when most people have a little extra free time for family & friends, we are at our busiest. But, we finally got together for dinner a couple of months ago and nailed down a date to get these two sweeties and their mini-mes in front of our cameras for a little bello family time.

We met up at one of our favorite spots in Falmouth and had a blast! Perhaps too much fun! It’s so rare we get to see the kids, all we…and they…wanted to do was play. But, we were able to hold them down for a couple of quick seconds…just enough time to snap some fun pics of this lovely family thoroughly enjoying each other!

Say hello to one of our very special families….Todd, Amy, Max, Shea & Griffin. Are they cute or what???

They all have these crazy beautiful blue/greenish eyes that you can easily get lost in. Max is a happy, adventurous, wild little boo who loves Pokemon and could have spent the entire session comparing collections with my big man-child. And, Shea is as smart, fearless and kind-hearted as she is so obviously beautiful. I love this photo of her…she looks like some wild jungle princess.

Oh these eyes……sweet baby Griffin hasn’t known us for as long as his big brother and sister, so wasn’t quite sure what to make of me sticking my big camera in his face…thus the expression. But, he still seemed to be enjoying himself, right along with his siblings.

Of course, nothing beats snuggling with momma!! Love the very natural moment on the left…Shea & Max would have kept climbing these rocks all day if we’d let them.

Because my husband is a big man-child himself, he really has a special way of connecting with kids that makes me fall deeper in love with him every time I witness it. Look at the expression he’s getting from Griff and his beautiful momma!! Just delightful!!!

As a fellow Daddy’s girl, I can totally relate to what sweet snuggly Shea is feeling in this moment and it makes my heart SWOON big!!

Love the dichotomy of these two moments…Griff running wild, and Max just chillin, looking ever the impish little boo that he is.

Mommas and their baby girls….a love like no other!! Be still my momma lovin’ heart!

Max no doubt talking about Pokemon…thus the big toothless grin. And, Griff not minding one little bit being sat on by his big idol of a brother! That wave….can we talk about that for a second??? Seriously?!!

Amy and her babes having a little chat…I think they were also playing patty-cake, but I’m not entirely sure. Either way, I just love the perspective and those EYES!!!

Lovely Shea….enjoying the little one-on-one focused attention from her new friends. Be still my heart!

Love is feeling the sand between your toes and knowing how very much you are loved! This is L.O.V.E.

And so is this!!! My sister has a little boy about the same age as Max and I know how precious these moments are for my sister…for before too long, sweet Max will feel too big to snuggle and smooch his momma. Sniff, sniff.

Max was pretty much done with us at this point…thus the grumpy face. But, I also think he was enjoying making us work for it…and making Andy jump around like a crazy person to get a laugh. As I’ve said before….we’ll do anything for a great photo!!

And, with a cheeky tilt of the head and some more big smiles….it’s a wrap!

Amy & Todd….thank you so much for your continued friendship, for sharing your sweet boos with us, for your patience when we drop off the radar for months…and sometimes years at a time. We love you guys and love spending time with you both and your really AMAZING children!! It’s no wonder they are as cool as they are….they’ve got you guys guiding their way. Thank you for trusting us so many years ago, and putting your trust in us once again! Hope to see you all again real soon!! Until then, we hope these photos serve as happy reminders of this fleeting time in life…big love & hugs to the whole gang!!! C&A xoxoxo

Sheri & Steve’s Osterville Engagement Session ~ Cape Cod Wedding Photographers

Sheri & Steve met as many busy couples do today….online. And, like any form of dating, sometimes it takes a while before you really figure out what you want. But, when you do, and the stars align, that is where true magic can be found. During our recent love session with Sheri & Steve it became obvious very quickly that their relationship is most definitely touched by magic.

Busy professionals, Sheri & Steve had done their fair share of dating, but they just weren’t finding their match….you know….your best friend, soul mate, the person who fits you, who gets you, who shows up when they say they will and who is by your side when the going gets tough. THE match.

One day, the digital dating Gods gave the deck just the right shuffle and paired the two to meet. After a few pleasant email exchanges and telephone chats, a first date was set. They met at a wine bar for dinner, and the conversation was easy & fun. A few more dates soon followed and by their fourth date, they got together to celebrate Sheri’s birthday.

“Steve made an incredible lobster dinner. Did I mention he is an amazing cook?” And, as Sheri shared….the rest is history. “Steve was so different than anyone else I had dated,” she told us. “When I am with Sheri, I feel happier than I ever thought imaginable,” added Steve.

Fast forward two years and this sweet, warm, kind, loving pair is planning a summer wedding at the wonderful, Wequassett Inn. And, we could not be happier to get to share in this exciting time with them.

We got together with Sheri & Steve a couple of weeks ago, meeting them for the first time at our studio in the morning. And, then later that afternoon, we headed to Osterville for some love session fun (aka engagement photos) at some of our favorite spots. Steve & Sheri confessed to being nervous…..saying they don’t typically photograph very well. Ummmm….these next few images tell a very different story, my friends.

Without further ado, meet the lovely Sheri & Steve:

Steve helps adjust Sheri’s dress before we begin…although we began without them. I don’t know why, but I just loved the moment of Steve helping Sheri. There’s something so timeless about a good man helping his lovely lady do her dress. And, their puckered smooch tugs at my heartstrings in all the right ways.

At the start of our session, okay pretty much during the entire session, Sheri would just look at Steve and with this big, beautiful smile, she’d just giggle. Wrapped in the arms of the one you love, giggling….does it get much better than that?

Yup….apparently, it does. Sheri your expression just radiates love & contentment and oh, how beautiful that is!

More giggles….delightful!

And more content snuggling in…you know the spot. We all have one with our honey….that little nook that fits like no other. Yup, that there is some magic.

Peeking through the flowers & bushes at our lovely pair…peek-a-boo, we see you!

If a smile could speak….oh, the things it would say.

Next, we headed to the beach for sunset. Late summer here on the Cape is such a beautiful time…the grasses are drying out, the sky still so blue…add a beautiful, giggling couple and voila…HEAVEN!

As silly as Sheri & Steve can be together, there is also a calmness, an inner peace and comfort wrapped in a whole bunch of tenderness that is really lovely to see and super fun to photograph….Can we talk about the way Steve is tenderly holding Sheri’s hand in this next one? Sometimes when you wait a little longer to find love, when you do find it, you appreciate it that much more. I really feel that coming through in this moment with them.

Love. Love. Love!

Having done this for so many years, it can sometimes be challenging for Andy & I to find new ways to look at things, new ways to document couples that allows their unique story to come through, while still producing beautiful imagery. I was so inspired by Sheri & Steve, this next one just sort of came to me and I must admit….I love it! The way they’re looking at each other, the colors, lines and just the vastness of the sky. Somehow it feels right for them and it was fun for me….the perfect combination.

And, sometimes….all you need is a look, with big, real, love-filled smiles, and a slight tilt of the head…so relaxed, so lovely, so them!

A quick outfit change and some more giggling…

Steve has this really gentle way of kissing Sheri’s forehead that makes he glow from the inside out and makes photographers like us smile from the inside out!

Love these two together!!

Where you lead, I will follow….side by side.

No better place in the world, than in the arms of the you love…

These next two could be my faves of the day. By now, Steve & Sheri were completely relaxed (they were pretty relaxed really the whole time, but I think the nerves were fully gone now) and the love and magic…oh how it did shine though.

Magic hour….gorgeous light makes me almost as happy as a deliciously in-love couple.

Another fave….Sheri looks so happy. I feel like they could be doing a commercial for anything in this next one…and I’d buy what they were selling! You two are too freaking cute!

Sheri & Steve, thank you both so much for opening up to us in such a beautiful way. Thank you for sharing this happy time with us and for entrusting us with documenting your wedding with love, care & creativity it deserves. Special thanks too, to Zofia Crosby of Zofia & Company, Nantucket for sending you our way. Getting a stamp of approval from someone whose work we so admire is a huge compliment. And, we know how important photography is to you, Sheri, and how much you & Steve want your wedding to be photographed in a way that captures all the love you have for each other and those closest to you, and we hope that these photos let you all feel confident in your decision to choose Andy & me. We absolutely loved spending time with you both, watching you together and just soaking in some of the love & magic you radiate and we cannot wait to be there with you when you say, “I do!” Big love & hugs, Christine & Andy xoxo
