Amy, Todd & Family on Cape Cod ~ Falmouth Family Photographers

I’ll never forget Amy & Todd’s wedding. It was early October 2005, our third year shooting weddings, and we were still pretty green. It was one of those freakishly hot days…so hot that I could feel the sweat dripping down my back while crouched in the front of the church, searching for the best angle, while staying as unobtrusive as possible.

But, it wasn’t the heat, or the early nerves that made Amy & Todd’s wedding so memorable.  It’s how happy they were, how much fun they were having on the dance floor with their friends, who, by the way, were amazing and so warm & welcoming to us! I’ll never forget the look on Todd’s mom’s face just before the ceremony or the way Amy’s dad held her tight during their special dance. I’ll never forget staring that kind of love in the face and knowing it would last.

It was in all ways….a perfect day!

Right from our first meeting with Amy  & Todd, we knew we wanted to be in their lives long after their “I dos!” had been said. Happily, the friendship we felt when we first met these two smart, funny, creative,  kind, super cool people has, like their marriage….stood the test of time. We’ve seen them a few times over the years, meeting their crazy cute little boos, Max, Shea & the newest addition…Griffin.

Sadly, like with all of our friends, we don’t get together as often as we’d like. During the summer, when most people have a little extra free time for family & friends, we are at our busiest. But, we finally got together for dinner a couple of months ago and nailed down a date to get these two sweeties and their mini-mes in front of our cameras for a little bello family time.

We met up at one of our favorite spots in Falmouth and had a blast! Perhaps too much fun! It’s so rare we get to see the kids, all we…and they…wanted to do was play. But, we were able to hold them down for a couple of quick seconds…just enough time to snap some fun pics of this lovely family thoroughly enjoying each other!

Say hello to one of our very special families….Todd, Amy, Max, Shea & Griffin. Are they cute or what???

They all have these crazy beautiful blue/greenish eyes that you can easily get lost in. Max is a happy, adventurous, wild little boo who loves Pokemon and could have spent the entire session comparing collections with my big man-child. And, Shea is as smart, fearless and kind-hearted as she is so obviously beautiful. I love this photo of her…she looks like some wild jungle princess.

Oh these eyes……sweet baby Griffin hasn’t known us for as long as his big brother and sister, so wasn’t quite sure what to make of me sticking my big camera in his face…thus the expression. But, he still seemed to be enjoying himself, right along with his siblings.

Of course, nothing beats snuggling with momma!! Love the very natural moment on the left…Shea & Max would have kept climbing these rocks all day if we’d let them.

Because my husband is a big man-child himself, he really has a special way of connecting with kids that makes me fall deeper in love with him every time I witness it. Look at the expression he’s getting from Griff and his beautiful momma!! Just delightful!!!

As a fellow Daddy’s girl, I can totally relate to what sweet snuggly Shea is feeling in this moment and it makes my heart SWOON big!!

Love the dichotomy of these two moments…Griff running wild, and Max just chillin, looking ever the impish little boo that he is.

Mommas and their baby girls….a love like no other!! Be still my momma lovin’ heart!

Max no doubt talking about Pokemon…thus the big toothless grin. And, Griff not minding one little bit being sat on by his big idol of a brother! That wave….can we talk about that for a second??? Seriously?!!

Amy and her babes having a little chat…I think they were also playing patty-cake, but I’m not entirely sure. Either way, I just love the perspective and those EYES!!!

Lovely Shea….enjoying the little one-on-one focused attention from her new friends. Be still my heart!

Love is feeling the sand between your toes and knowing how very much you are loved! This is L.O.V.E.

And so is this!!! My sister has a little boy about the same age as Max and I know how precious these moments are for my sister…for before too long, sweet Max will feel too big to snuggle and smooch his momma. Sniff, sniff.

Max was pretty much done with us at this point…thus the grumpy face. But, I also think he was enjoying making us work for it…and making Andy jump around like a crazy person to get a laugh. As I’ve said before….we’ll do anything for a great photo!!

And, with a cheeky tilt of the head and some more big smiles….it’s a wrap!

Amy & Todd….thank you so much for your continued friendship, for sharing your sweet boos with us, for your patience when we drop off the radar for months…and sometimes years at a time. We love you guys and love spending time with you both and your really AMAZING children!! It’s no wonder they are as cool as they are….they’ve got you guys guiding their way. Thank you for trusting us so many years ago, and putting your trust in us once again! Hope to see you all again real soon!! Until then, we hope these photos serve as happy reminders of this fleeting time in life…big love & hugs to the whole gang!!! C&A xoxoxo

Kate & Hugh’s Woods Hole Wedding ~ Cape Cod Wedding Photographers

Despite their size difference, Kate & Hugh are one of those couples that when you see them together, it’s hard to deny that they just FIT together…..and I mean, fit perfectly! They share the same sense of fun, abundant love for one another, and a sincere passion for living life to its fullest.

Their wedding, at Kate’s family’s summer home in Woods Hole, was a true reflection of those things they hold most dear. It was also quite a party! With 400 guests, a 28-person bridal party and dancing that seemed like it might never stop…it was a day filled with love & happy celebration! It was so wonderful to watch Kate’s parents, Nancy & Craig, beam with pride over their baby girl and the union they so obviously supported, all while throwing a party of Great Gatsby-like proportions. It truly was an amazing day, and, Andy & I were honored to have been there to document all of that joyful exaltation!

Here’s a peek at their F A B U L O U S wedding:

Kate’s stunning Monique Lhullier wedding gown and make up by the talented Katrina Hess. Hair by the fabulous Marisa Marino of Stilisti Salon.

Simply gorgeous! And, that happy expression was the one she was wearing all day long!

Sexy hot pink Christian Dior shoes and some seriously sexy bling to match! Looove!

Kate’s super sweet momma, Nancy, was beaming (and getting a little welled up) with pride and love for her sweet girl, as she sees her dressed and ready to marry her best friend.

The excitement builds….

Kate’s besties react to seeing their gorgeous friend…

Meanwhile, down the road a bit, Hugh gets dressed and ready with his favorite guys. Part of his wedding wear included these cufflinks that belonged to his grandfather and namesake, former Governor of New York Hugh Carey.

Looking good in his custom-designed Vineyard Vine tie, featuring flags with his & Kate’s initials.

Thumbs up to the cool ties….

Having some fun with his mates…

Hugh arrives in style for the ceremony, then takes a moment for a quick photo with his guys, including his best man and little brother, Donnie.

Kate & her proud papa, Craig, ready to enter the church….love these emotional expressions. Weddings are so freaking awesome!

I love this photo and the appropriate symbolism of the past, the present and the future depicted in the reflections seen in the church doors.

Giving away his baby girl….LOOOVE! Seriously, be still my daddy-lovin’ heart!

And embracing his new son……more love!!!

The love & laughter, oh how it did flow….

Hugh & Kate’s flower girls were crazy cute and really getting into the ceremony….

As a surprise to their guests, Hugh & Kate delivered the communion during their wedding mass. So lovely.

The new Mr. & Mrs.! Yaaahoooo! (if only people would put down their cell phones and bask in the glory of the moment!

Hugh is a little too tall for the car they made their get-away in. Watching him try to squish in was precious….almost as much as Kate’s face as she watched in delight.

The happy couple….

We went to the house Hugh’s dad had rented to do some photos, but first, a little snack for our newly married couple….I really LOVE candid moments like these. Totally my faves.

A vision…..

The old house has such character…and Kate’s stunning dress suited it perfectly.

Heading down to the gardens for photos….

Jumping for joy….

Hugh’s guys and his girl… fun!

Our sweet couple….

Love and a pink, heart-shaped bush….it was meant to be! Seriously…a pink, heart shaped bush! It’s like it was made for this moment!

Hot pink and ready to party….

Hugh & Kate and their bridal party sailed over to the reception, captained by Kate’s dad….does this look like an ad for Ralph Lauren or what??

As they approached the party, Hugh & Kate released some balloons…..letting their love rise to the heavens. Ahhhhh….

Meanwhile, a staff of several dozen from The Catered Affair prepared for dinner, canopied beneath a gorgeous Sperry Tent, with flowers by the incomparable Winston Flowers.

Love this super sweet basket-weave cake by Icing on the Cake.

One of Hugh & Kate’s signature drinks…..looks as good as their guests. Hello sexies!

Cocktail hour candid moments…my faves.

Hugh’s beautiful momma, Pam, digs in to the raw bar.

As Hugh & Kate make their arrival to the reception, greeted by lots of happy waves.

Trying to corral 400 people was no easy feat…but we did it. Wooo hooo!

Yay for love…and for Hugh & Kate!

This is what I strive for… like this, after so many years. Truly, is there anything more beautiful?

An entrance for the ages… go gurls!

Kate & Hugh’s dance had all of the fun, flair and love you’d expect from these two. And, their guests ate it up!

The final twirl….delightful!

Kate & Hugh’s party kicked off straight away, with our happy couple joining The Sultans of Swing for a bar or two of song! So awesome!

The sun sets as dinner is served….so Great Gatsby!

I had to grab my tripod when I saw this moment, as one of the flower girls, dances on her own during dinner. Like a fairytale come to life!

And, a little while later the party kicked into high gear with some Vineyard Vines inspired limbo. Kate & Hugh provided a ton of ridiculously fun hats for their guests to play with…LOVE!! Check out Cheesburger head following up his wife for some limbo action. AMAZEBALLS!

“Hey sharky, I wanna eat you up”….so playful & fun! Thanks guys!

Fun! Fun! Fun!

The night ended as high as one can, with Hugh & Kate taking center stage and leading one of the most amazing renditions of Journey’s Don’t Stop Believing. I love this view of them in embrace, as their friends & family cheer them on! Just wonderful!

Kate & Hugh…what can we say?! Your wedding was just so incredible, with memories made that will surely last a lifetime! Thank you so much (and thank you Nancy & Craig) for inviting us in and allowing us to be a part of all of that wonderful love & celebration! We had so much fun and hope these photos serve as happy reminders of all of the fun you so obviously had for many happy years to come! More to come soon!! Special thanks too to Jen from Pink Polka Dot Events for being amazing and also to Kat Hanafin for helping us capture some of the fabulous details and happy exchanges during cocktail hour. With lots of love & big hugs, Christine & Andy xoxo

Christine & Stephen’s Falmouth Engagement Session ~ Cape Cod Wedding Photographers

Standing in the elevator of her condominium building, Christine couldn’t help but notice when the handsome young man dressed in tennis whites and carrying a racket stepped in. She was intrigued when Stephen started talking with her and asked if she wanted to join him for a game sometime. He left his number, but Christine was focused on her work and wasn’t interested in dating….or so she thought.

But, the love Gods weren’t having it. About six weeks later, while walking down the street, the two bumped into each other again. Christine was heading home from a long day of work and Stephen was on his way out. They stopped to say hello, and this time, Christine agreed to go for a drink with her handsome neighbor. And so began their love story…

This summer, Christine & Stephen will embark on the next happy chapter as they say, “I do!” at the beautiful ocean side Wequassett Resort in Harwich. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that the band plays the Aerosmith classic, Love in an Elevator, as a nod to their fateful meeting!

We got together with these two cuties a couple of weeks ago for their Bello love session. It was also the first time we all met and I was particularly excited to finally put a face to the kind, sweet, funny woman I had been e-mailing/chatting with for months. As expected, Christine & Stephen were as lovely as we had imagined.

We met at Christine’s parents’ home in Falmouth and as a little treat, we got to meet them too. It is no surprise Christine is as lovely as she is! Dick and Linda are just delightful and made us feel incredibly welcome in their beautiful home. We all sat outside, sipping drinks, and snacking on cheese and crackers as we got acquainted, while looking at family photos and talking wedding plans. We have no doubt the wedding day is going to be a wonderful, joyful celebration of love…..and we can’t wait to be a part of that!

For now, here’s a sneak peek at our time with the lovely Christine & Stephen…

We started on the front stoop of her parent’s home, because we just love how front stoops speak of home, family and a welcome respite from the stresses of life. I mean, when does life get more simple than when you’re sitting on your stoop, snuggling and laughing with the one you love?

Next, we headed out to the backyard (where poor Dick quickly began pruning like a madman for us…..such an awesome dad!) for some more snuggling and laughing…love these two!!!

After getting warmed up to the idea of being photographed, we headed to our next location by the water. These two, like soooo many of our couples, were pretty nervous about being photographed. They claimed to not be able to take a decent photo….um, yeah, whatever….heard that before. Big, silly fibbers! Christine, like another Christine my husband knows, was particularly worried about how she photographed. We all thought she was seeing things we just didn’t see, but being my own worst critic in front of the camera, I could absolutely empathize and really went the extra mile to try and capture just how lovely, beautiful, kind, sweet and caring this wonderful woman is. I will be holding my breath to hear what she thinks of our efforts….

I just loooooove these boats! Love the colors and the way you really have to get close to be in one. It didn’t hurt having such a gorgeous couple in them to photograph either!!!

Heaven looks like this….

Our next stop took us to our favorite lighthouse, where our happy couple really found their stride in front of our cameras. The e-session really is as much about all of us getting to know and feel comfortable with one another….building trust and confidence….as it is about getting pretty pictures. And, we absolutely love the process. It is so fun for us and we hope for our couples too!

Does it get more classically Cape Cod than this? I think not!

These two did a lot of smooching, and I have to say, being around that kind of affection and passion is so nice for us! Andy & I have been together for (I can hardly believe it) nearly 19 years and those intense feelings of infatuation that drew us to one another back on the beaches of Marbella, Spain, are still there. But, time has a way of changing things. We have a history now. We have been together through hard times and glory days. We know each other better than we know ourselves. We have lifted each other up and sometimes, in a moment of weakness, we have let each other down. The history we share has a way of covering the early passion and wild abandon with layers of stronger, deeper feelings of love, commitment, trust & familiarity. One is not better than the other. Rather, they are all part of the joy that is life! It’s such a treat for us to get to regularly see new love, in all its sweet, unbridled glory….when the  kisses are still new and the electricity nearly visible. Sometimes, after a particularly good session with our couples, we drive home, holding hands a little tighter. The kisses taste a little sweeter and those old feelings bubble closer to the surface, making us appreciate the journey that has led us to today. Christine & Stephen did that for us and we hope these photos of their kisses and tender touches may one day remind them of this time in their lives and do for them what they did for us….

Smiles and almost kisses = my favorite things to photograph.

“In your eyes I see a world of possibility, a love as deep as the deepest ocean, and a reflection of me that is one I strive to live up to.” THIS is love!

Oh Christine….if you could see you as we do. You are absolutely stunning! In every way!  And, Stephen, you’re pretty fabulous (and dashingly handsome) as well!

Down to the waters edge, getting to close to the waves, and loving every minute of it…

Side by side…..forever!

By this time in the session, I think it’s safe to say we were all realllllly enjoying ourselves. And, here….with the setting sun casting its warm glow, sparks flew….

and, hearts filled….

And joy, it did flow like a rising tide.

I’ve said it a million times, and for these two it rings as true as ever…..There is NO better place than in the arms of the one you love. Ahhhhhhh!

Hubba. Hubba. Hubba!!!!

Christine & Stephen…..THANK YOU! Thank you for opening your hearts to us. Thank you for trusting us, and letting down your guard….when we know it was not easy for you. Thank you for inviting us to share in such a special time in your lives, without even having met us yet. Thank you for welcoming us into your home with open arms and making us feel like old friends! We hope these photos show you what we see in you…..warm ,wonderful, lovely, kind, caring, SEXY, beautiful people who have a deep affection for one another and who light up everything around them. We adore you and are so excited to get to share in the love & celebration that will be all around you in just a couple of months! Until then, we hope these photos serve as happy reminders of this time in your lives and our time together. With big love & hugs, Christine & Andy xoxoxo

PS…We’d like to send a special shout out of love to Dick & Linda for just being so totally awesome! Can’t wait to give you both big hugs again in September! xo
