Harvest & Justin’s Wequassett Fall Wedding ~ Cape Cod Photographers

W0322_0736

I love when the seasons change. There is joy to be found in those moment of in-between…where letting go and moving on meet.

Even though they come year after year with steadfast predictability, each season brings something new…some exciting thing to look forward to. We trade our swimsuits and flip-flops for flannel and boots. Later, we put away our shovels as daffodils make their way through the thawing soil. Each season is met with great anticipation, though sometimes mingled with quiet surrender.

Weddings are a bit like that, I think. We pledge to make room for another, one who will walk beside us on the journey of life. There is a sense of unknowing…what will this new season of life bring? And, at times, it can be scary…particularly for those of us who didn’t have a good marriage modeled for us by our parents.

And, yet, we go forth blissfully into the unknown, sure in our feelings of love and trust. For this person we have chosen to walk alongside is making a commitment to be there, to show up for the good and the bad – today, tomorrow and always. That’s pretty huge!

Just as each season is unique….so too is each wedding. And, it is truly a privilege to get to bear witness to this merging of lives and hearts.

Just as summer was giving way to fall, friends & family gathered as Harvest and Justin stood on a grassy knoll overlooking Pleasant Bay at the picturesque Wequassett Resort, ready to merge their lives in marriage.

A year earlier, we had received a very sweet e-mail from Harvest inquiring about our availability. She & Justin live in Kansas City, Missouri, so a meeting…at least initially…wasn’t possible. We chatted a few times via e-mail, and then over the phone, and I was instantly smitten. Harvest is warm, open, kind, and super thoughtful. So thoughtful that she & Justin choose to have their wedding in New England mainly to accommodate their aging grandparents. Of course, it didn’t hurt that Cape Cod and Wequassett are gorgeous places, but it was really about making it easy for their grandparents to be there. LOVE THAT!

Harvest was really upfront about us being a bit more expensive than they could really afford, but when they decided to hire us she told us, ” I have always said there are two things I want for my wedding (besides Justin, of course!) a kick-ass dress and an amazing photographer….Check 1 of 2 off the list.”

I mean…how do you not fall in love with her?! Needless to say, we were super excited to be a part of their wedding and when we finally got to meet them…and their dog, Kane, this spring it was official….we were going to make sure this wedding was one we were going to document with lots of heart!

So, without further ado….here’s a little look at the wonderful wedding of two pretty amazing people.

Harvest is a very colorful person…she is fun and funny, kind and quirky. She is happy in the way that color is and it’s hard not to feel similarly so when you’re around her. Her beautiful flowers echoed all of that perfectly. And, how about those shoes?!

01 wedding ring & flowers

Even in her getting ready dress, Harvest was already glowing…thanks to help from dear friends, who traveled to be part of their day, and even helped do Harvest’s hair. Girlfriends are the bomb diggity!

02 bride gets ready

Harvest & Justin didn’t opt for a bridal party. Instead, Harvest had her sister as her MOH and Justin had his dad as his BM. Justin & Jon are pretty chilled out guys, as is Justin’s very sweet dog and sidekick, Kane, who is never far from his side. It made for a very relaxing time getting ready.

Harvest & Justin opted to do away with the formality of a cocktail hour and instead had a buffet for guests to enjoy dinner at their own pace. Harvest’s super cute parents, Lynn & Patricia, decided to start with a little dancing.

Harvest & Justin…thank you sooooo much for welcoming us with such open arms and open hearts! We loved being a part of your wedding and hope that even though you two live half way across the country, that you keep us close and let us know where this next season of life takes you! Liz & Travis’s Wequassett Wedding ~ Harwich Photographers

W0308_0220

Liz & Travis’s Wequassett wedding last month was perfectly dreamy in every way. The weather was one of those quintessential warm fall days, sunny, dry…perfect. Family & friends gathered, overlooking picturesque Pleasant Bay, to watch as these two best friends pledged their hearts and lives to one another, having written their own vows and guided into marriage by their dear friend, Gary….perfect! There were heart-felt speeches, that were equal parts humor and sentiment and had everyone smiling from ear to ear. There was delicious food, good music, dancing and oodles of love and happy celebration.

All in all, theirs was a perfect wedding and the perfect way with which to end our 2016 season.

We had been looking forward to the day since meeting them last fall. Sitting in our studio, hearing about how they met, their hopes for their special day, and how much they enjoyed our work, we instantly fell for them! And, quickly fell for Liz’s super sweet mom, Jane, and dad, Stephen, who welcomed us warmly into their home when we got together in June for Liz & Travis’s engagement (click HERE for a peek)…even asking us to stay for dinner. Just like Liz & Travis, they are super warm, welcoming, kind, generous, lovely people. And that sentiment was perfectly reflected throughout the wedding.

Here’s a look at some of our favorite moments from their incredible day, beginning with just a few picture perfect details, including Liz & Travis’s wedding rings, sitting atop a perfectly plum Mrs. Box (love these little ring boxes!), Liz’s bling-a-licious Jimmy Choo shoes, stunning bouquet by Lilac Florals. (You outdid yourself with this one, Karen!), invitations by JPapers and Liz’s crazy beautiful Reem Acra wedding dress. The purple and gray wedding colors paired with the blue suits and gray ties were stunning!

01 bride details

Liz gets help getting in her dress from her super sweet sister, Laura, and mom, Jane (behind Liz), while her adoring cousin, Rachael lends moral support. Slipping into her sexy Jimmy Choos, I just love this candid portrait of Liz! She’s so serene, so beautiful and so sexy all at once!

The gorgeous rushing and beaded shoulders on Liz’s dress fit her perfectly!!!

With a little spritz of her chosen wedding day scent and a smile and she’s ready to go see Travis for their first look. Isn’t she lovely?! Liz got her flawless look thanks to good genes and the talented team of Artworx Hair Design and Kristin McKenzie Make Up.

Meanwhile, in another room at the resort, Travis gets ready with his besties. Just loved their stylish blue suits and sharp ties, which Travis gave to his groomsmen as gifts. Travis started Tora Clothing, a high end menswear company, so we just knew the guys would be looking good….they didn’t disappoint!

W0308_0868This one melts my heart….having no kids of our own, I see a lot of mother/son dances and can’t help but feel a little sad that I’ll never have that. But, seeing sweet Travis dance not only with his lovely momma, but also with his favorite Aunt Judy gave me hope that I could still have this. (Callie & Mikey….are you listening? And, Sadie & Stella, I am totally open to a bride/Auntie dance too, just for the record!!)

W0308_1020bw

Liz & Travis, thank you both so very much for inviting us into your lives and sharing such a special day with us. Entrusting us to document all of the beautiful love & joyful celebration was both an honor and privilege that we absolutely relished! You guys are wonderful. Your families and friend equally so and we could not have ended our wedding season on a sweeter not! So thank you!!! We hope you enjoy these photos half as much as we enjoyed being there to capture them for you! Can’t wait to share the rest with you! Until then, sending big love & hugs, Christine & Andy xoxo

Kelly & Bryan’s Black Rock Country Club Wedding ~ Hingham Wedding Photographers

Our last wedding of the season could not have ended on a happier note than it did getting to be a part of Kelly & Bryan’s wonderful, love-filled celebration at the beautiful Black Rock Country Club in Hingham.

We had been looking forward to seeing Kelly & Bryan  say, “I do!” for quite a while, since we first met them at the wedding of Kelly’s very sweet cousin, Cara. We photographed Cara & Brendan’s Martha’s Vineyard wedding last year and fell head over heels for the whole family! And, when Kelly & Bryan told us they were engaged, we just knew we were in for another sweet treat with this pair, whose love & affection for one another runs deep and is easy to see!

All of this was confirmed when we photographed their engagement session earlier this summer in Sandwich.

But, the love could not have burned brighter than it did at their wedding a few weeks ago (okay, it’s been several weeks now….thank you K&B for your patience as we fell a bit behind this year….you guys rock!!).  It truly was a spectacular day and everyone (including me & Andy) had a fabulous time.

So….without further ado…..here’s a few of our favorite moments & details from Kelly & Bryan’s day of love!

LOOOOOVE Kel’s crazy cute and sparkle-liciously fabulous Kate Spade shoes. And, love her & Bryan’s beautiful commitment jewelery.

Kelly had these super sweet oxford shirts made for her and her girls to lounge in the morning of the wedding. Her shirt had a particularly cute touch! Love it!! And, love her BEAUTIFUL invites by Bella Figura. Letterpress & stylish calligraphy makes me swoon!

Our beautiful bride Kelly, gets a helping hand getting into her stunning gown from her crazy sweet momma, Dawn (love her!!) and one of her besties, her sister-in-law and MOH, Kristin. Isn’t Kelly gorgeous? And, that smile….lights up every room she enters!

Meanwhile, our handsome groom, Bryan, awaits the arrival of his soon-to-be Mrs.

Getting a look…..love this moment as brides see themselves all put together for the first time. You know how suddenly it hits you?….”This is really happening!” It’s so exciting and joyful and a little nerve-wracking in the best kind of way! (PS…love the look on Kel’s friend Nicole’s face as she catches a glimpse of her bestie….so sweet!)

Bryan and his brothers, P.J. and Andrew. Such sweet guys!

Bryan excitedly awaits seeing Kelly for the first time. Here she comes….

Loooooove Kelly’s expression as she locks eyes with Bryan for the first time. Happy tears….is there anything better? Maybe just the passionate embrace & love-filled kiss that follows!

Are they ready for this? Ummmmm…I’d say without a doubt, yes!

Love these two together….just so wonderful. Such love & devotion, and a kindness that is at once inspiring and simply beautiful to behold.

Kelly smiles with her entire being….especially when her gaze is cast on Bryan. And, seeing it happen is wonderfully infectious!

Kisses & cuddles and moments like this….just wonderful.

The look of love…..this is IT!

Stunning! And, so is Kelly’s beautiful bouquet by Jen Cahill at The Tangled Web.

To the rock that made Black Rock famous, for a few quite moments alone before the ceremony….

Hello beauties…

Dawn and Kelly’s brother, Billy, make their way to the ceremony….just love this sweet moment/exchange between mother & son on their daughter/sister’s big day! Sweetness overload!

Here comes our gorgeous bride and her proud papa, Bill. Nerves, excitement and love all rolled into one fleeting moment.

Love is this……when you look into the eyes of the person who holds your heart in their gentle embrace and you just know, beyond any doubt, that THIS is where you and your heart are meant to be….forever!

Watching Kelly  & Bryan recite their vows was so moving. I felt much as sweet Cara (center) did.

And with a kiss, a promise of love is forever sealed.

And, suddenly…..breath returns with joyful exhalation.

They did it!!! Wooooo hoooo! Now, let’s get this party started!

Lovin’ the sheer drapery & new chandelier. That wasn’t there the last time we were at Black Rock. It gave such an airy sophistication to the room and helped with bouncing flash (photographers will appreciate this). Also loved the gold chiavari chairs and beautiful floral arrangements by Tangled Web….stunning!

The cake by Veronica’s Sweetcakes in Marshfield was  perfection.

Kelly’s cousin, Joey, has a playful exchange with a guest on the lawn below cocktail hour. I don’t know why I like this photo so much, but I do. I just love photos that capture people unprompted and in moments unrehearsed.

Bryan chats with friends during cocktail hour.

Kelly’s niece, Emma, had everyone at the wedding wrapped around her precious little finger…including her cousin, Davin, who is quite the charmer himself! Meanwhile, wedding guests enjoy cocktail and good conversation.

These girls were having so much fun all day/night. Loved watching and photographing them.

Our happy couple during their first dance….smiles so big they lit up the room!

Kelly is one of the kindest, most loving, sincere, sweet, generous, delightful people and watching her as she listened to her sweet Dad sing her and Bryan’s praises was precious in every way!!! And, can we talk about Bryan’s sweet, humble face as he takes in the moment. LOVE these two!!

MOH Kristin also gave a moving speech that raised glasses high!

Daddy’s dance…one of my favorite moments of every wedding!

Raisin’ the roof….you go ladies!

Killin’ it, Kel!!!

I really wish Andy & I got invited to more weddings as guests because dancin’ with my honey is one of my favorite things to do…watching other honeys get down on it ain’t so bad either!

Who can guess what song was specially requested for this VERY HAPPY flower girl? I’ll give you a  hint…..Emma really ‘Let It Go’ big for this one!!! Much to the delight of EVERYONE in the room!

A perfect ending to a perfect day….and the beginning of a beautiful new chapter for two extraordinary people! Andy & I were soooo happy to have been a part of it!!

We’d like to extend a heart-felt thank you to Kim C. and all of the fabulous staff at the Black Rock Country Club for being so accommodating and generally wonderful to work with. Thank you too to Bill & Dawn for entrusting us with documenting your daughter’s special day, but most especially for just being the wonderful, warm, welcoming, fabulous people you are! We loved getting to share another happy milestone with your amazing family. And, thank you too to Bryan’s wonderful parents, Lauren, Paul & Greg, for also being so great to us! You all are very lucky to have so much love in your lives!! A special shout out too, to our sweet Cara for being such a huge Bello cheerleader!! Honestly, wish we could put you, Bren & Coops in our pockets and carry you around everywhere with us! But, the biggest thanks go to Kelly & Bryan for opening your hearts to us in such a beautiful way, for sharing one of the most significant and intimate days in your lives with us in such an honest way! We love you both as individuals and together….well, ain’t nothing going to stop you two!! Thank you for inspiring us with your boundless love for each other, for life and for those closest to you! We hope these photos serve as beautiful reminders of that love and of the wonderful memories made this beautiful day! With big love & hugs, Christine & Andy xoxoxo
