Sarah & Brett’s Back Bay Engagement Session ~ Boston Wedding Photographers

We are sooooo very lucky to have so many of our couples come to us through happy family or friends, who we’ve worked with for their wedding or special event. Such was the case with super sweeties, Sarah & Brett. Sarah is friends with one of our brides from a few years ago, Kate, who recommended us. Without even meeting us, Sarah & Brett hired us to document their wedding, which always feels really good and is just the hugest compliment.

It’s like they trust us, without even needing to look us in the eyes and see for themselves who we are and what we’re about. Knowing couples like Sarah & Brett put such faith in us right away always makes us want to work extra hard for them….perhaps to prove ourselves or perhaps just out of an enormous appreciation for their blind faith.

We had spoken on the phone prior to them hiring us, but we didn’t actually get to meet Sarah & Brett until their engagement session two weekends ago. With their wedding planned for here on the Cape in just a few weeks, they thought it would be fun to do their engagement session in the city, around their neighborhood, where they live. And, we agreed.

So, we met at their apartment in the Back Bay and had a lovely afternoon of giggling and getting to know one another. As we expected, Sarah & Brett are super sweet, easy going and clearly smitten with one another. They met about a year and a half ago, as many of our couples do, on an online dating site. Brett was actually the first guy Sarah had met through the site. And, after their date….she never needed to go back to the site. They both knew…this one was a keeper. And nine months later, Brett proposed on stunning Seven Mile Beach in the Cayman Islands…man, I wish we’d been there to document that!

Happily, we will be along for this next exciting milestone, as this sweet pair says, “I do!” at the gorgeous Chatham Bars Inn Resort, here on Cape Cod. We can’t wait to be a part of all of the love & celebration yet to come. For now, here’s a look at our happy love birds.

We began their session on the steps of their Back Bay apartment, which is quintessential Boston at its best. Wrought iron, classic brownstone and two young, smitten lovers….what more do you need?

We took a little walk with Sarah & Brett to explore some of the places they frequent.

Including the Public Garden, where weeping willows and cheeky grins make for great photo fodder.

You + Me = Will-oways be together. That doesn’t really work, but you get my drift.

In your eyes I see our future and in your arms I know it will be bright.

Sometimes just looking into each other’s eyes and being in the moment is all you need…

Don’t know why I love this next one so much….they both just look so good, so cool. Plus, what’s not to love about the iconic Public Garden Bridge.

Hey hot stuff….

Sometimes when we’re walking around with our couples, Andy or I will see something that’s not really anything, but you just know it’s going to make for some cool photos….such was the case with this super long bench. So, we asked Sarah & Brett to snuggle up and then just pretend we weren’t there….which, with two of us, isn’t always easy to do.

But, these two are so comfortable together, they made it look easy.

Hey Brett…look over here for a second. And, BAM! You guys are adorable!!

Then over to the Public Library, where Brett has been spending a fair bit of time lately, studying for the GMAT exam. You got this, Brett!

The look of love.

Laughing together…those big, belly laughs…it’s just the best!

Tender moments….ahhhhhh.

Sarah & Brett, thank you so much for choosing us to document this exciting and super special time in your lives with us! We can’t wait to be there with you when you say, “I do!” to meet your family & friends and not only document all the love & goodness surrounding you, but to share in the spirit of the day. We hope you love these photos…and the rest still to come…as much as we loved spending the afternoon with you both!! And, a special shout out to Kate & Hugh for singing BelloPhoto praises. Hope to see you both at the wedding!! Big hugs to all, Christine & Andy xo

Amanda & Kevin’s Wequassett Wedding ~ Harwich Photographers

Some people love with their hearts so wide open that you can almost feel the excess spilling out into the world. That’s how it is with super sweeties, Amanda & Kevin. We met these two last fall, when we photographed their Sandwich love session aka engagement session. They picked the spot because it’s where they got engaged and right from the start we could see their love is special.

They are just so good together and individually they are such warm, kind, smart, fun, funny, caring people. All of that was reflected in their wedding and reception, so much so that we ended up with a caboodle of photos. I had a reeeaaaalllllly hard time culling and picking some for the blog. And, even as I look at what I ended up with, I still feel like I could have added another 80 before I really did their day justice.

But, it’s getting late and I know Amanda & Kevin are excited to see something…so without further ado, here’s a little look at just a smidge of the beautiful love and joyful celebration that was Amanda & Kevin’s incredible Wequassett wedding, starting with Amanda’s gorgeous Maggie Sotero wedding dress and finishing make up touches by the talented and lovely ladies of Artworx.

Helloooo….. Jimmy Choo just got a whole lot sexier.

More pretty details…

Getting dressed with a little help of her super sweet sissie, Veronica. Love these two wonderful ladies.

Meanwhile, not far away, Kevin starts his getting ready process.

With some of his besties.

The World Cup was in its final stages and the fellas couldn’t help put watch….

Ready to go….

More and more couples are opting for a first look, and we LOVE it! There’s such anticipation in this moment…where all the planing and preparing comes together and for a few long seconds, you hold your breath! Plus, it means more time to enjoy cocktail hour and we get more time to document all those super fun candid  moments.

With a turn and a quick smile….the kisses just kept coming.

You think he’s happy???

Such love between these two….so beautiful.

By your side is where I always want to be.

And in your arms, life can’t get any sweeter.

After a few minutes to take in the moment alone, Amanda & Kevin met up with family and their bridal party for some photos. Love these sweet moment as Amanda hugs Kevin’s super sweet momma, Elizabeth.

And Amanda enjoys another sweet embrace with her beautiful momma, Dana. And, Flower girl, Novella, and Ring Bearer, Rowan, did a fabulous job….such sweeties.

Amanda and her bestie gal pals…all smiles with these lovely ladies.

Why helloooooo beautiful!

Kevin’s nieces and nephews, Samantha, Max, Kai & Aria, did a fabulous job handing out programs

And guests were all smiles as they arrived for the ceremony on the Grand Lawn.

This next photo sums up for me this wedding…just so much fun, joy and oodles of love.

Meanwhile, Amanda and her bridesmaids hide away as they wait for the ceremony to start.

Friends excited for the ceremony to start.

Kevin looks pretty excited for it to start too….love this guy!

Here comes the bride, on the arm of her proud papa, Bob.

I looooove this next moment….Bob looks chuffed as pie and Amanda….looking into the eyes of her soon-to-be husband…well, her face says it all for me.

And Kevin can’t take his eyes off of her. For those who think having a first look will somehow make this moment less special….look again.

A hug of love…

And a smile that goes on for miles.

It was hard for friends and family not to feel all the love & joy.

These two were radiating!

Sweet Delia couldn’t stop the happy tears as Amanda & Kevin read their thoughtful and super heartfelt vows to one another.

Kevin’s brother, Erik, performed the ceremony, which ended with several sweet, meaningful kisses…it’s like the didn’t want to stop. Just love it!

So much happiness.

Wequassett likes to give their couples a few minutes alone after the ceremony to just take in the moment. With a plate full of hors d’oeuvres and full glasses of champagne, these two made the most of their moment.

We like to take our couples for a couple of minutes alone time too…just to capture those happy highs after the ceremony.

So much happy…

Then, down to the dock to take advantage of the setting sun.

You light up my life…

Intoxicating….

Checking out their new hardware and looking freaking gorgeous doing it!

Beautiful details…

…including stunning summer flowers by Beach Plum Floral.

Welcome the new Mr. & Mrs.

These two….

Their first dance was off the hook.

Crushing it.

The look of love.

Toasting the happy couple.

Kevin’s best man, Michael, did such a great job with his toast.

He had these two in stitches.

Taaaaa daaaaaa….

Time for a dance with Dad.

And a little love for Mom.

Then it was time to get down on it….and this lot really did!

Serenading their bud….with so much love.

Oh yeah!!

We did it baby….we did it!!

Amanda & Kevin…thank you both sooooooo much for choosing us to document your incredible wedding day. Right from the beginning, you two welcomed us with open arms and made us feel included in the celebration. You two exemplify everything we love about photographing weddings. You are beautiful souls who love without limits and it’s beautiful to behold. We hope you can see and feel all the love that surrounded you two on your incredible wedding day. They say we reap what we sow…and it’s clear that you two put a lot of love and care into your garden. May the flowers continue to blossom with boundless beauty. Can’t wait to share the rest of the photos with you!!! Until then, big love & hugs, Christine & Andy xoxoxo

PS…a special shout out and big thank you to Annie & Brian for sending these two love birds our way!! We missed you at the wedding Annie. Big love xo

Lauren, Garrison and Family ~ Chatham Family Photographer

Today is my sister’s birthday. And even all these many years later, I can still remember the day my parents brought her home from the hospital. I was outside on our front steps to greet them and my mom let me hold her. I had to sit down first and when they put her in my arms and I looked into her eyes, she felt like a gift for me. My own real, live baby doll.

Perhaps the reason I have this strong memory is because there were photos to support it. Pictures of me, with my curly brown hair in a barrette, my 70s striped red t-shirt and shorts, smiling broadly with baby Kimmy all wrapped in a light cotton cloth, cuddled in my arms, there on our front steps.

Photographs have a way of not only preserving our memories, but giving them life….from those big life moments, where a family grows through marriage or birth, to those seemingly little ones, those in-between moments of happy family togetherness. Getting to preserve these moments for people we adore has become a real labor of love for Andy & me. We hope that each pretty picture we capture will keep memories alive for the families who invite us into their homes and lives, and ask that we document their togetherness.

While our family sessions often include poses/set ups that meet the principals of sound photography…..really, the photos that move us are the ones where we give our subjects room to roam, so that the REAL them shines through. These allow for those priceless moments in between.

A couple of weeks ago, we got together with Lauren & Garrison, one of our wedding couples from 12 years ago. We’ve photographed them and their growing family every few years and sometimes Lauren’s parents and brother join us, and each time, we see some new memories being made for this wonderful family. And always, it is our pleasure to help preserve those memories.

Here’s a look at some of our most recent together time with these wonderful people, including Lauren’s niece, Chaia, and her cousins/Lauren’s sweet babes: Oliver and Julia.

Lauren is great about providing simple, fun activities for the kids to relax and enjoy themselves….and not think so much about being photographed. This year it was hoolah hoops and bubbles. So fun!!

The last time we saw Oliver he was still in diapers. He had no memory of us and upon entering the back yard of Lauren’s dad’s house, announced that he was feeling too nervous to be photographed. So, we just let him play with bubbles, encouraging to see how big he could get them….and not-so-slowly, he came bursting out of his shell, and quickly stole my heart.

Lauren’s lovely mom, Linda, joined us for a family session this year. It was the first time we’d seen her since the wedding and it was such a sweet reunion for us!! Just love this family….and what’s better than a little Meme’ time? Maybe a cousin’s cuddle?

I’m not sure where the idea for doing a super serious photo came from for these munchkins…but watching them try to get here was sooooo fun!!!

And involved a LOT more moments like this next one…..such happy, shining people!! Love these guys!

Sweet Julia is such a love! She is such a happy, joyful little spirit, who was so excited about being photographed….which, of course, is EXACTLY how we photographers like it. So, when she asked, ” Can you take a photo of me with this flower in my hair?” we happily complied. Her smile was so full of excitement and just lights up my heart….as do the smiles of her happy wee family. Love these people!

The gang’s all here….(from left to right) Julia, Lauren, Garrison and Oliver, with Lauren’s mom, Linda, and big brother, Adam, with his sweet baby girl, Chaia. Such good, warm, loving, kind, fun, funny, all around awesome people! Right here are seven solid reasons why we love photographing families.

Adam and his baby girl….Chaia. She is such a sweet, soulful girl. I wanted to put her in my pocket and keep her close. She’s like a warm, loving beam of light.

The look of love…and the bond of an awesome Dad and his baby girl.

After a bit of time at the house with everyone, we took Lauren, Garrison and the kids to a nearby beach for some quality Cape Cod time….where they played and laughed and hunted for hermit crabs.

Family….the cornerstone for every good thing in life.

All of our time with these awesome people has created a bond that runs deep and feels a lot like  F . A . M . I . L . Y .

Hermit crabs and soft shell crabs….checking out the gifts of the sea with momma.

These two peanuts make my heart smile…BIG!

As do these two sweet peanuts….(not much has changed, guys, since we first photographed you two twelve years ago!!)

Growing up sooooo fast. I remember when sweet Julia was just a baby…and here she is looking so grown up, confident, and full of beauty (inside and out) and her baby brother….I could just eat him up!! When Andy & I were getting ready to leave after the session, we were in the driveway saying goodbye and he gave me a great big hug, looked up at me with those big, beautiful eyes and puckered up for a kiss…but then seemed to have a second thought, like, “wait, I only just met her.” Before he could change his mind, I hugged him tight and kissed his sweet cheeks off, seemingly much to the delight of my sweet new friend. Getting to make connections like the ones we’ve made with these awesome little people is a gift I never imagined when Andy & I first decided to start Bello. We don’t have kids of our own, so getting to spend the quality time we do with these awesome families is just so incredibly rewarding and such a huge blessing, for which I am so, so grateful!

Here’s some of those in between moments that I love so….

…where siblings strengthen their bonds and create moments of togetherness….

…that we hope get woven into their collective memories of a life well lived, a charmed childhood and magical summers spent on Cape Cod’s sandy shores.

Lauren & Garrison…..we can’t thank you enough for inviting us back into your family’s fold, sharing with us your time to play and enjoy each other, and allowing us to preserve these precious, fleeting moments of childhood. We adore you both and are crazy about your wonderful kids! Spending time with all of you really does feel like spending time with our extended family. We hope you love these photos as much as we love all of you, and we look forward to the next time we all see each other! With big love & hugs, Christine & Andy xoxo
