Jessica & Mike’s Falmouth Engagement Session ~ Falmouth Wedding Photographers

E0309_0005

Jessica & Mike met in high school, working at a local restaurant after school. Mike was a senior and Jess was a junior at a nearby high school. The two became fast friends at work, but didn’t start dating until the following year, when Mike headed to college, and the pair has been inseparable ever since.

Now, ten years later and they are planning their Cape Cod wedding for next summer.

“I think we always knew we were always going to make it to marriage and now we are just happy to start our lives together as husband and wife,” they told us.

We first met Jess & Mike a couple of weeks ago in Falmouth. Jessica had been referred to us by a friend of Katie, one of our brides from last summer. Both Katie and her awesome friend, Brooke (love ya Brooke) work for Jessica’s Uncle. And, it was at his house that we met Jessica & Mike. It is always where they will hold their wedding ceremony next summer. Jess & Mike often come to the Cape and stay with family and thought it would be the perfect setting for their engagement session. We couldn’t agree more.

Mother Nature, however, had other ideas and was not playing as nice as she could have been. It was a rather foggy, humid, windy, day…not the best conditions, but we all had fun together despite.

Here are a few of our favorite moments from our time with this sweet couple and their equally sweet fur babies.

Super cute Gunther and his older sis, Mia. Such handsome doggies! Having rescued our own fur baby nearly two years ago, we hold a very special affection for rescue dogs and their owners.

Gunther walks much like our Faithy does…at the very end of his leash. Love it!

E0309_0029

After some fun with the doggies, we put them away for a little alone time with our smitten couple. Are they cute or what?

Too cute!!

Love the photo of Jess on the right….I feel like her beautiful smile is really radiating from within!

Mike is crazy about cars…perhaps as crazy for cars as he is for Jessica. So, he asked us if we’d mind taking a couple of photos with his hot rod. Sure…we can do that. Gotta say the foggy day made for some great car lighting!

Rashah & Evan’s Skaket Beach Wedding ~ Orleans Photographers

W0304_0291-Edit

Getting to photograph the super sweet and wonderfully intimate Skaket Beach wedding of Rashah & Evan last month was like coming full circle for Andy & me.

Evan is the brother of Dianna, whose wedding we photographed more than 13 years ago…say what?!!!! Seriously, where did the time go?!  Back then, Andy & I were very green as wedding photographers, still shooting film, with just a few weddings under our belts and Dianna & her now husband, David, took a chance on us with their big fat Greek wedding.

We had so much fun together and captured some wonderful moments, but with them living in Virginia and their wedding having taken place in Boston, over the years we’d just lost touch. So, it was such a happy surprise when we got an email from Rashah, all the way from Singapore, and she mentioned that her fiancé, Evan, was Dianna’s sister.

Evan, Dianna, Rashah, Singapore, Cape Cod wedding…..I’ll admit, it took me a few minutes for things to click and me to make the connection, but I eventually got there and happily Evan & Rashah decided to hire us as their photographers.

They said, “I do!” surrounded by family & closest friends at Skaket Beach in Orleans, just as the sun reached the edge of the horizon. It was a foggy September evening and the air was thick with love…just how we like it!

Here’s a few of our favorite moments from our reunion….and their beautiful oceanside wedding.

Beautiful Rashah and her super sexy wedding dress. Hummuna hummuna!

01 bride getting ready

I had so much fun photographing this lovely woman! We had some extra time before we needed to go meet Evan, so I suggested doing a few boudoir type photos and Rashah was totally up for it. We had such fun and got some amazing photos…sorry, but those are for Evan’s eyes only. (Something to think about for brides who would like a couple of pretty/sexy pics of themselves on their wedding day….budget the time!!!)

W0304_0034

Love these two images….Evan’s face as he sees Rashah in her wedding dress for the first time…such happiness!! And Rashah’s proud-as-a-peacock spin as she shows her husband-to-be her sexy wedding day look. Such fun!

02 first look

Beautiful, happy, lovely people….really enjoyed spending the day with these two!!

W0304_0134

We left the Ocean Edge Resort, where Rashah & Evan were staying and headed to Crosby Landing Beach to meet family & friends for some photos. But, first a little one-on-one time with our happy couple, who waves to family as they arrive…

W0304_0322

During family portraits, flower girls extraordinaire, Olivia and Marina, pose for a quick photo with the blushing bride. Olivia is Dianna’s youngest daughter and Marina is the youngest daughter of Evan’s other sister, Melaina. Love the candid capture of Evan helping Rashah across a rising tidal pool.

After family photos, we headed to Skaket Beach for the ceremony, but had to wait for another wedding that was finishing up there, so we took a little detour and went to Nauset Beach for some more alone time with our sweet couple.

Then off to get married….

Love this photo of Rashah & Evan enjoying the ride and a glass of bubbly…

Rashah’s very dear friends, Romel & Donna, escorted her down the beachy aisle. Happy faces all around….

W0304_0476

Even from our flower girls, who seemed completely enamored by their beautiful new auntie. A special shout out to David and gang for moving like a Nascar pit crew to get the beach set up for the wedding before the fog chocked out all the light. You guys rocked!

W0304_0482

Olivia making her way to her beautiful momma and adoring uncle. Good job sunshine!!!

Like her cousin, Marina took her job of scattering petals very seriously….one step at a time. Precious!!

W0304_0502

And then it was time…..Evan’s face says it all! And Rashah’s….happy, happy, happy!!!

06 skaket beach wedding

Surrounded in an intimate semi-circle of family & friends, Evan & Rashah commit their hearts and future to one another, and were met with approving smiles all around!

Melaina’s middle son, and Oliva’s twin brother, Seve, was the perfect ring bearer.

Rashah & Evan….thank you so much for allowing us to not only document your incredible, love-filled, wonderful, happy, abundantly joyful wedding day, but for also setting the stage for a much welcomed reunion with your beautiful family! Dianna & David, it was so great seeing you both again and meeting your sweet boos. You too Melaina & John. And, Dorothy & Athan, so great to see you both looking so well and enjoying the fruits of the amazing family you created! We really loved being a part of this wonderful day and hope these photos serve as wonderful reminders for many happy years to come! Rashah & David, please let us know when you guys come back stateside and let’s all stay better connected this time around!

With big hugs & much love, Christine & Andy

Jackie & Chris’s Sandwich Engagement Session ~ Cape Cod Photographers

Like so many of our couples of late, Jackie & Chris came to us through a family connection….and we just love it when that happens, because it means a level of trust and comfort has already been formed. And, trust & comfort are two key ingredients necessary to end up with great photographs.

Although it was the first time Andy & I photographed Chris, Jackie first found herself in front of our cameras eight years ago, when we photographed the Wequassett wedding of her big sister, Jenn, to her now hubby, Pete.

We loved photographing Jackie and her family then and had hoped that when the day came that she found the person with whom she wanted to spend the rest of her life that she might want us to photograph her special day too. So we were super excited when she called us earlier this summer to announce that she was engaged and could we photograph her & Chris’s wedding.

Ummmmm……Yes, please!

We got together a few weeks ago in Sandwich for Jackie & Chris’s love session. The autumn light and warm breezes made for the perfect setting for this sweet duo. Jackie’s AHHHH-DORABLE flowing dress didn’t hurt either. So simple, sexy and perfectly beachy…just like these two….

Watching, or more aptly stated….listening to these two during their first few moments in front of the camera was too cute for words. Jackie has the most adorable giggle and because everyone feels a little nervous those first few moments in front of the camera, her giggles were coming out big time, which was great for getting big beautify smiley photos, but it also made me giggle right alongside her!

Jackie & Chris met when they were still in college. Jackie, then senior at Syracuse University, had planned a trip to Vegas with her best friend, Abby. Abby happened to work with Chris, then in his second year of grad school also at SU, and while talking one day at work, they realized they were both planning to be in Vegas with their besties at the same time. As if the love Gods were orchestrating bigger things to come, the coworkers arranged to meet with with their friends at one of the hotels on the strip.

“I thought Chris hated me because he didn’t speak for the first 30 minutes,” Jackie told us, although Chris said he doesn’t remember not speaking. Although we’ve only met a few times, I get the feeling Chris is a lot like Andy and tends to take a back seat when in the company of more loquacious peeps like Jackie & me.

After dinner, the foursome ended up at a club dancing when another random Syracuse student saw them “awkwardly shuffle dancing” and trying to chat and said, “I feel the vibes, you guys should dance, and shoved us together.” “We’ve been together ever since,” Jackie said.

Once back at school, the decided to date for the rest of the school year, thinking they’d eventually part ways after Jackie graduated, but when the heart know…it knows. So, they did the long distance thing for a year and eventually moved to New Jersey together, before eventually settling in the real Big Apple….a sort of come full circle beginning.

Now, this sweet pair is planning their Wychmere Harbor Club wedding for next summer, and we cannot wait to be there to witness all the love & goodness.

Kisses and sunset and beach for as far as the eye can see….LOVE!

Sweet kisses and tender touches that speak to a forever kind of love….ahhhhh!

ADORABLE!!!

Just love the way these two are together…so easy, breezy, lovely!

Tip toes and a stony shoreline =

LOVE the in between moments…..just heavenly!

Wherever you go, I will follow, side by side and hand in hand!

Love the dichotomy of these next two….hysterically laughing and completely in the moment…These two are soooooo fun to photograph!!

The sunset was spectacular….as is Jackie’s killer dress and beautiful flowing locks!

GORGEOUSNESS!!!

Another in between moment with some seriously delicious sun flare….love!!

This photo screams romance to me…..yummy!

I LOOOVE when couples are so into the session that they ask about doing certain photos. This next one on the left was totally inspired by Jackie, who wanted to take advantage of the sunflare. I’m so happy she suggested it because it’s become one of my faves of the day! What’s so cool about photography is how changing your perspective can change everything. So, while the photo on the left was shooting into the sun, the photo on the right was shooting with the sun at our backs. Notice how different the light and color are. Both are equally pretty, but totally different. LOVE that!

And as the sun sets, we bask in the last of its deliciously warm autumn light…..

It’s a wrap…..

Jackie & Chris, thank you both sooooo much for entrusting us with documenting this special time in your lives!! We are so thrilled to be a part of another D. family wedding, Jackie and cannot wait to see everyone again!!! For now, we hope these photos captured your love in a way that makes you as excited for your wedding as we are!! You two are adorable together and we can’t wait to be there with you to watch you and your friends play, laugh, chat & “awkwardly shuffle dance” as you make memories that will last a lifetime!!

With big love & hugs, Christine & Andy xoxo
