Christina & Jon’s Falmouth Wedding ~ Cape Cod Photographers

The Falmouth wedding of Christina & Jon was pretty much a fairytale in every way! Princess Christina & Prince Jon are just the kindest, most lovely, warm, wonderful people one could ever hope to meet…they’re not really royalty, in case that wasn’t obvious, but they do have everything going for them that a Disney prince & princess do…all that AND a bag of chips!

We were lucky enough to be a part of their wedding rehearsal dinner the night before their wedding, so we got to meet a lot of their closest peeps. You can catch a glimpse into those fun festivities HERE.

But, their wedding was definitely the pièce de résistance of the weekend as about 170 friends and family members gathered to celebrate these two special people.

Their beautiful ceremony was held at St. Elizabeth Seton Church in North Falmouth and was led by Deacon Peter Guresh.  Their reception followed at the family’s ocean front home in North Falmouth, under a gorgeous sailcloth tent by Sperry Tent, with crazy beautiful flowers by the ridiculously talented Courtney Iris Barnes of Courtney’s Floral Creations. Catering was provided by the fabulous Olive Chase at The Casual Gourmet, and music by the high-energy, super fun Boston band, Hi-Fi, with all of the details of the weekend coming together seamlessly thanks to the care and creativity of the dynamic duo Megan & Sarah from Elegant Engagements.

Christina’s drop-dead gorgeous Reem Acra dress was definitely fit for a princess.

Just love how their stunning wedding invitations by Elise Cherney of No Regrets in Newtonville were a subtle nod to Christina’s dress.

Getting into her dress with a little help from her beautiful momma, Elissa. Just love her boho chic ponytail by Erik Howard of Will Charles Salon.

Mom getting a good look and clearly liking what she sees! Who could blame her!

Christina’s super sweet dad, Dennis, getting his first glimpse. Just love their reactions!

Bridemaids and cousins, Julia (left) and Leah putting on their finishing touches.

Stunning….

Meanwhile at the Sea Crest Hotel, Jon and his besties get ready for the big day.

Henry puts on his bow tie, as Jon and his other groomsmen get ready. Such a nice group of guys, which is no surprise given how lovely Jon is.

Looking good, Jon!!! You too Max!

What did we ever do to entertain ourselves before smart phones? I have no idea what the guys were watching, but it looks like it was good stuff.

A toast with your best mates…what could be better?

Jon & Christina opted for a first look, which meant meeting back at Christina’s grandfather’s house for photos….loved having all the time we had with these guys before the ceremony & reception began.

With everyone else away for a bit, Jon waits for Christina to make her way to him for their first look. I just love his face and how he’s biting his tongue, no doubt to hold back the happy tears. Such a tender heart!

The look of love….

And an embrace that speaks volumes!! Just love these two!

Oh Jon…..you are the sweetest!

With you by my side….everything is possible.

After a few minutes with our happy couple, we invited family to join us for some photos. Just love this candid moment featuring Jon’s crazy sweet momma, Karen, and dad, Tom.

Fun times with best friends….(PS…If you’re a frequent visitor to our blog…AND have a killer memory…you may recognize Christina’s totally awesome sister & MOH, Jac (right). We photographed her amazeballs wedding four years ago.)

In addition to her sis, Christina’s bridal party included all cousins. For Jon, it was his closest friends and big brother, Brendan, was BM. Such an awesome group!! We had so much fun with these guys!

We had so much fun with these guys!

This next one reminds me of something out of one of those thick coffee table fashion photography books. I just love those in between moments in life…when folks aren’t aware of our cameras and everything just falls into place in such a beautiful, real way! (PS…Keep an eye out for Christina’s cousin, Julia, holding her dress, we photographed her wedding a few weeks after this one and will be highlighting that soon on our blog!)

Quiet moments with our princess and prince.

We’re goinnnnng to the chapellll and we’re gonnnnnaaa get maaaaaarried. Waving by to family as they head to the limo.

And, here we go….

Friends arrive at St. Elizabeth Seton for the ceremony…excited to see these two awesome people say, “I do!” Heeeey, Marissa!!

That moment, when you feel all the feels and realize this man you’ve loved forever is about to lead you down the aisle to meet the new, most important man in your life. So much love & gratitude…for showing you what a real man looks like and for loving you without limits. Just the best!!!

Here comes the bride….Jon can barely contain himself, and Christina’s little shoulder scrunch as she feels all eyes on her! AHHHH, these two….just the sweetest!!!

Love the look Elissa gives Dennis after he takes his seat. Proud parents…so sweet!

Sharing words of wisdom, guidance and love, Deacon Guresh speaks to Christina & Jon.

Here we go….the “I do!” part. You think they’re happy?

With this ring….I thee wed.

Wooooooo hoooooo!!!

The new Mr. & Mrs.!!!

Family celebrate with hugs outside the church, including Jon’s dad & brother. So sweet!

Our happy couple boarded a trolley with family & bridal party and off they went, first bidding farewell to guests still outside the church.

Love these quiet moments on the trolley, when couples have a chance to soak in what just happened.

A few quick beach portraits with our newly married Mr. & Mrs.

A perfect summer night + a sailboat + a kiss from your forever person + a day to remember = one hell of a fairytale!

Practicing their first dance moves on the jetty…be still my heart!

Here in your arms is where I always want to be…

Love. Love. Beautiful Love!

Pretty in pink…just love the way the tent came together with all the stunning details.

And touches of gold.

Elissa and friends enjoying cocktail hour.

Friends of C&J gather for a photo.

Cousin Ashley enjoying cocktail hour conversation…so cute!

Their first dance as a married couple…

The reaction from family & friends was one of rousing approval.

Brendan’s toast could be my all time favorite best man toast ever! He crushed it!! It was sweet and sentimental, full of love & pride for his baby brother and it was also brilliant and hysterically funny.

Reacting to loving words directed at her new husband.

I felt for Jac, having to follow Brendan, but she too nailed it and gave her sissie all the feels!

So much love between these two sweet sisters. Just love them and feel so grateful to have shared such special days with them both!!

When you get a killer sunset, you gotta interrupt dinner for a few quick photos. Baaaaam!!!

Dancing with his beautiful momma…can’t you feel the joy?

Guests getting down on it…

Get it Matty….the love was contagious.

Auntie Sarah busting some serious moves…you go girl!

More fun dance floor antics.

A perfect ending to a perfect day!

Thank you to everyone who made this day so special for our happy couple. Heartfelt thanks to Elissa & Dennis, for once again sharing such an important family milestone with us and entrusting us to document these precious family memories!! Christina & Jon….you two are just delightful in every way and we feel so honored to have shared in this amazing day with you both!! Thank you for welcoming us with such open arms and open hearts and reminding us why we love what we do!! We hope these photos bring you as much joy as being a part of your wedding brought us! The rest of the photos will go online very soon…so stay tuned. Until then, we send you both big love & hugs,

Christine & Andy xoxo

Jenn & Jordan’s Chatham Bars Inn Wedding ~ Cape Cod Photographers

We’ve been photographing weddings for a long time now….14 years, actually, which is hard to believe. Even after all of these years, I am still in awe of the power of love!

The real joy for me is seeing how love presents itself in so many different ways. Sometimes it’s quiet and reserved and harder to see, and, other times, it’s so big and in your face, it nearly knocks you over. I must admit, I tend to love big myself, so I am more affected by this kind of love.

But, even for me, the love shared between Jenn & Jordan came as something of a surprise….a wonderful, glorious, inspiring, this-is-something-to-celebrate kind of surprise. In fact, it moved me in such a way that I’ve struggled with how to really do it justice in this post….and it’s taken me longer than I like or expected to compose my thoughts and craft words that would honor Jenn & Jordan and their beautiful love.

Sorry Jenn & Jordan, but you guys are just too freaking awesome, what can I say?!! And, Jenn…..after your vows, which completely blew me away (and everyone else in attendance)….I just didn’t know how to follow that!

But….I’ll try.

If you’re a regular visitor to this blog, you probably remember Jenn & Jordan, and how I gushed about them back in May, when we got together for their engagement session. Andy & I had been looking forward to photographing them since first meeting months earlier. And, watching them together in front of our cameras confirmed everything we expected….such sweetness, silliness, complete adoration and oodles of love. Still, nothing could have prepared us for what was to come.

Yes, the details were stunning. The flowers were gorgeous, the bride a vision and the setting could not have been more perfect. But, the love….oh, man, the LOVE! It was overwhelmingly beautiful, and getting to be there and be a part of it was truly a gift! Their Chatham Bars Inn wedding gave new depth and meaning to the vows so many take, perhaps without really thinking about them. For Jenn & Jordan, they had already begun living their vows before they spoke them to each other with such sweet sincerity.

An outsider looking in would have no idea that just a few weeks earlier Jenn was diagnosed with Stage III Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. A second opinion reduced it to Stage II, but doctors still wanted to start treating Jenn aggressively…and right away.

She had surgery to put in a port and began treatment. At about that same time, Jenn’s grandmother passed away, with Jenn at her side. The stress of seeing her granddaughter suffering and her daughter (Jenn’s amazing mom, Mary) beside herself with worry proved too much for her failing heart.

All of this might make some question whether to go ahead with the wedding, but not Jenn & Jordan. Their love cannot be denied and besides, “for better or worse” had already begun for them.  Plus, if you’re lucky enough to know Jenn & Jordan you know they are two of the most lovely, kind, wonderful, loving, positive people you could ever hope to meet. And although they’re not the type to complain, they and those who love them most all needed something to celebrate, a break from the cloud that hung over them and a chance to focus on all that beautiful LOVE.

And, focus on love they did….in a big, beautiful, someone-pass-me-a-tissue kind of way!!!

Watching them together, pledging their hearts to one another, when “in sickness and in health” had more meaning than it does for most was truly a gift. Couples like Jenn & Jordan are why we do what we do. Getting to document that kind of love….the kind that makes you a better person just for being around it….is just the coolest thing!

So, without further ado…we’ll let the love do the talking….and invite you to share in the joy that was Jenn & Jordan’s wedding day.

Jenn gets the finishing touches on her hair, while her soon-to-be mother-in-law, Linda, and sister-in-law, Jackie, look on with all smiles.

You can tell how wonderful Jenn & Jordan are by the company they keep. Days after finding out about Jenn’s diagnosis and the treatment she would soon be undergoing, Jenn’s friends secretly rallied and started a Go Fund Me page to help with the unexpected slew of medical expenses, figuring too that Jenn would likely have to miss work while she focused on her health.

Within just a few days, their friends raised thousands of dollars. Click HERE if you want to help too. They surprised Jenn by gathering together at her mom’s house to show her a book they’d put together with photos and messages of love & support. And, the last page highlighted the secret fundraising website, which left Jenn unusually speechless and in a puddle of happy tears.

But that wasn’t all. After the wedding, an old friend from high school, whom Jenn hadn’t seen or spoken to in ages had heard about what she was going through and wanted to help, so he arranged another fundraiser/fun night out at the Boston Improv Comedy Club to help lift spirits as the honeymoon was put on hold so Jenn could continue with her chemo.

All of this love and support could most definitely be felt on the wedding. There were some tears….though most were happy, loving, supportive tears. I may have shed a few myself. But, all of the scary ugliness that comes with a cancer diagnosis was put away for a most glorious day of love and joyful celebration. Here, Jenn’s besties, Kerri, Sheri & Elizabeth oozing with love & happiness for their gal pal….

Happy, wonderful, delightful Jenn has her veil put on….

After her hair & make up is done, Jenn gets a warm embrace from her sweet momma, Mary. Love this sweet wedding hankie Jenn got to dry her mom’s happy tears. So beautiful!!

Sheri & Mary help Jenn get in her gorgeous wedding gown. Va Va Va Voom…

The girls gather to help button Jenn in….

Meanwhile, across the property in another room at CBI, Jordan and his mates snap on their suspenders and pull up their socks in preparation for what was to be an unforgettable day…

Jordan gets a little help from his BM Robb. Sweetest guys.

Checking out the bling….

First looks are my fave….look at how these two react to seeing each other for the first time on the day they become hubs & wife. Just delightful!

Sooooo much love!!!

Love the pink-a-licious invites they choose by Splash Stationers in Sandwich and the gorgeous blush inspired flowers by Enchanted Florist in Centerville. And, per their request…..a fun snap for their guest thank you cards. Adorable.

Jenn & Jordan and their super fun posse. Love this group!

Jenn & her gal pals….and blue “I do!” proudly stuck to her beachy flip flops.

Guests begin arriving for the ceremony.

Love these candid moments of guests as they excitedly wait for the love fest to begin. This next photo makes me exceptionally happy because it includes two former Bello brides….Jenn’s cousin, Laura (in foreground) and friend Keri, whose wedding we photographed about 10 years ago. She’s as gorgeous as ever and we love the dark new hair, which totally stumped us when it came to immediately recognizing her.

As Jenn stood at the top of the stairs, ready to make her descent, Jordan was overcome with emotion. Me too!!

Loooove how you can feel the excitement, anticipation, love and pride in this next one as Mary leads her sweet girl to her soon-to-be husband. Love. Love. Love!!

And, more love…

The way these two look at each other, it’s just beautiful.

Jordan’s sister, Jackie, read a beautiful reading for the couple and had to hold her heart to keep herself together. It was just so lovely. And, again….the way these two look at each other. Be still my love loving heart!

Jordan’s beautiful vows to his bride were so touching…how he kept it together is beyond me.

And, like Jenn, who was moved to tears by Jordan’s words, Jordan struggled to keep it together as Jenn shared her vows, which like Jordan’s were so so, beautiful! I could barely contain myself.

And, then it was official….our new missus and mister.

Let the happy flag fly…..

Oh, so high….

I swear it did touch the sky.

Hugs from baby brother Stephen.

Let the celebrations begin. Love these guys!!!

But first, a quite moment for our newlyweds….

To take in the magnitude of the moment.

With a little snuggling on the dock.

Jenn was so cute….when we were taking her photo with whomever, she would grab the person’s head to bring it right in close to her. That’s just how she is….she likes those she loves nice and close! Lucky are those to be loved by her!!

And, doesn’t Jordan know it….look at that smile!!

Like I said earlier, Andy & I have been at this wedding thing for a while, and because there are only a handful of truly amazing places to get married on the Cape (unless you’re lucky enough to have a fabulous property on the water) it can be challenging to find creative, new ways to photograph our couples that feels fresh and different, but still appeals to our timeless sensibility. Working at the same places year after year, it gets increasingly more difficult to find places to put our couples that we and no one else has ever used before (at least that we’re aware of). But, it’s that kind of out-of-the-box thinking that Andy & I have always strived for, and truthfully, I think it’s something we’ve done really well. I remember in the first or second year of our career, a very well established photographer had told us that we raised the bar and changed the way others  photographed on the Cape. It was such a huge compliment, and it was in my mind when I asked Jenn & Jordan if they’d come sit in the beach cabana while I tried something new. I have to say…..I am in LOOOVE with the results. And without sounding too big headed, something tells me these cabanas are going to become a new hot spot for photos. I just loove the architecture of the lines! Having a crazy cute, totally smitten couple snuggling in them sure doesn’t hurt either!

Swoooooon…..

Cape Cod perfection….

More fun lines and happy smooches…

The beach house looked beautiful…orchids are my faves! And in touches of gold and grey and I’m in heaven.

Wedding thrones…

Cocktail hour candids….lots of smiling, happy faces.

And, a congratulatory kiss from Grandma. Be still my heart!

These guys know how to embrace life…it’s so inspiring!

Just before being announced into their reception, Jenn & Jordan share a happy look, as the roars of their friends usher them in…..Wooooo hooo!

Their first dance and hubby & wife….complete with dips and twirls and kisses, oh my!

The look of love and complete contentment. Makes my heart smile!

These two….just too much! The way they are together…it’s so natural and so full of love.

Like no one else was in the room…..

Moved by her momma’s words of support and encouragement…

And, then it was the co-best men’s turn. And, this happened.

Sheri showered Jenn & Jordan in more love-filled words…..

A lone tear on Jenn’s beautiful cheek….and a hug that says it all.

A mouth full of sweetness and a smile to match …..beautiful cake by CBI bakers.

Jenn laughs with her whole body and it is infectious. Love this girl!

Time to get down on it…..

Dance floor selfies….

Tearing it up…..

Co-best man, Andrew…..so much fun!

Towards the end of the night, the DJ (who, by the way, was AMAZING….Way to rock it C-Zone) played a killer remix of Rachel Platten’s Fight Song, which has become Jenn’s battle call. Watching her, surrounded by friends, all singing at the top of their lungs, nearly made my heart explode. I’m not sure if Rachel was thinking of cancer when she wrote  the song, but I think it’s a powerful anthem for survivors everywhere. I think of Jenn every time I hear it on the radio and imagine the day she’s doing Limoncello shots with her loved ones, celebrating her recovery, with this song still playing in the background…

….remembering the love that surrounded her this day….as her fight began and her love story moved to a whole new beautiful level of loveliness!

Jenn & Jordan, we hope you can feel all the love we saw surrounding you both on this most incredible day!! We love you guys so much and feel so grateful that you found your way into our lives and our hearts! Thank you so much for sharing yourselves and this day with us in such a warm and welcoming way. Thank you too, to your friends and family, who made us feel like part of the clan. We hope these photos serve as happy reminders of all the blessings of love in your lives and that we can all do it again to celebrate your five? ten? twenty? etc. year anniversary! Love you both to pieces and cannot wait for you to see the rest of the photos. This is such a small sample of all the beauty and love that was your awesomely inspiring wedding day!!! With big hugs & kisses, Chris & Andy xoxoxoxoxo

Amy, Todd & Family on Cape Cod ~ Falmouth Family Photographers

I’ll never forget Amy & Todd’s wedding. It was early October 2005, our third year shooting weddings, and we were still pretty green. It was one of those freakishly hot days…so hot that I could feel the sweat dripping down my back while crouched in the front of the church, searching for the best angle, while staying as unobtrusive as possible.

But, it wasn’t the heat, or the early nerves that made Amy & Todd’s wedding so memorable.  It’s how happy they were, how much fun they were having on the dance floor with their friends, who, by the way, were amazing and so warm & welcoming to us! I’ll never forget the look on Todd’s mom’s face just before the ceremony or the way Amy’s dad held her tight during their special dance. I’ll never forget staring that kind of love in the face and knowing it would last.

It was in all ways….a perfect day!

Right from our first meeting with Amy  & Todd, we knew we wanted to be in their lives long after their “I dos!” had been said. Happily, the friendship we felt when we first met these two smart, funny, creative,  kind, super cool people has, like their marriage….stood the test of time. We’ve seen them a few times over the years, meeting their crazy cute little boos, Max, Shea & the newest addition…Griffin.

Sadly, like with all of our friends, we don’t get together as often as we’d like. During the summer, when most people have a little extra free time for family & friends, we are at our busiest. But, we finally got together for dinner a couple of months ago and nailed down a date to get these two sweeties and their mini-mes in front of our cameras for a little bello family time.

We met up at one of our favorite spots in Falmouth and had a blast! Perhaps too much fun! It’s so rare we get to see the kids, all we…and they…wanted to do was play. But, we were able to hold them down for a couple of quick seconds…just enough time to snap some fun pics of this lovely family thoroughly enjoying each other!

Say hello to one of our very special families….Todd, Amy, Max, Shea & Griffin. Are they cute or what???

They all have these crazy beautiful blue/greenish eyes that you can easily get lost in. Max is a happy, adventurous, wild little boo who loves Pokemon and could have spent the entire session comparing collections with my big man-child. And, Shea is as smart, fearless and kind-hearted as she is so obviously beautiful. I love this photo of her…she looks like some wild jungle princess.

Oh these eyes……sweet baby Griffin hasn’t known us for as long as his big brother and sister, so wasn’t quite sure what to make of me sticking my big camera in his face…thus the expression. But, he still seemed to be enjoying himself, right along with his siblings.

Of course, nothing beats snuggling with momma!! Love the very natural moment on the left…Shea & Max would have kept climbing these rocks all day if we’d let them.

Because my husband is a big man-child himself, he really has a special way of connecting with kids that makes me fall deeper in love with him every time I witness it. Look at the expression he’s getting from Griff and his beautiful momma!! Just delightful!!!

As a fellow Daddy’s girl, I can totally relate to what sweet snuggly Shea is feeling in this moment and it makes my heart SWOON big!!

Love the dichotomy of these two moments…Griff running wild, and Max just chillin, looking ever the impish little boo that he is.

Mommas and their baby girls….a love like no other!! Be still my momma lovin’ heart!

Max no doubt talking about Pokemon…thus the big toothless grin. And, Griff not minding one little bit being sat on by his big idol of a brother! That wave….can we talk about that for a second??? Seriously?!!

Amy and her babes having a little chat…I think they were also playing patty-cake, but I’m not entirely sure. Either way, I just love the perspective and those EYES!!!

Lovely Shea….enjoying the little one-on-one focused attention from her new friends. Be still my heart!

Love is feeling the sand between your toes and knowing how very much you are loved! This is L.O.V.E.

And so is this!!! My sister has a little boy about the same age as Max and I know how precious these moments are for my sister…for before too long, sweet Max will feel too big to snuggle and smooch his momma. Sniff, sniff.

Max was pretty much done with us at this point…thus the grumpy face. But, I also think he was enjoying making us work for it…and making Andy jump around like a crazy person to get a laugh. As I’ve said before….we’ll do anything for a great photo!!

And, with a cheeky tilt of the head and some more big smiles….it’s a wrap!

Amy & Todd….thank you so much for your continued friendship, for sharing your sweet boos with us, for your patience when we drop off the radar for months…and sometimes years at a time. We love you guys and love spending time with you both and your really AMAZING children!! It’s no wonder they are as cool as they are….they’ve got you guys guiding their way. Thank you for trusting us so many years ago, and putting your trust in us once again! Hope to see you all again real soon!! Until then, we hope these photos serve as happy reminders of this fleeting time in life…big love & hugs to the whole gang!!! C&A xoxoxo
