Amanda & Kevin’s Sandwich Engagement Session ~ Cape Cod Photographers

E0324_0024

Getting engaged is a milestone moment…a happy commitment by two people to join their lives together, for better or for worse, in sickness and in health, till death do they part. We’ve photographed a few proposals for couples who got engaged and it was super fun…being in on the secret, documenting from afar, getting a front row seat to that happy milestone moment and being able to preserve the memories in photographs. Just so cool!

Equally as enjoyable for us is getting to photograph couples weeks or months after the proposal, when they’ve had some time to adjust to the idea of being engaged and our time together is for reflecting on where they have been in their relationship and where they are going.

Andy & I really enjoy these photography sessions and having the extra time to spend with our soon-to-be married couples before their wedding.  A couple of weeks ago we got together with Amanda & Kevin for their engagement session. Kevin had actually proposed to Amanda months earlier on the same Sandwich beach, so it was the perfect setting for us to get some photos of them together, enjoying one another.

As is the case with so many of our couples, Amanda & Kevin expressed concern prior to the session that they aren’t great at being photographed. And, as is always the case when we hear this, our cameras told a very different story!

Here’s just a sneak peek at the love & goodness we captured between these two super sweet, really lovely, totally smitten people…who, by the way….were a BLAST to photograph! Truly…we had so much fun photographing and just generally being around these two!

What made it so special is just how they are together…super comfortable, fun and lighthearted and so totally and obviously in love. That obvious love was showcased in their cuddliness and need to be touching one another, which from our standpoint is exactly what we’re looking for when we do these sessions!

One of the things Amanda & Kevin told us had influenced their decision to choose us as their photographers was that when they looked at our photos they “didn’t just see the joy & love (we) captured, (they) could feel it.” And, that’s exactly how we feel when we look at these photos of them! See for yourself…

Amanda & Kevin’s clothing choices were soooo great for highlighting the beach colors, the breezes and the elegant, yet approachable drama that is Cape Cod’s shoreline.

Normally for these sessions, we put our couples in different pretty locations for a cool shot, but every now and then just do something that is completely them, like turn around to see if we’re done, move the wind blown hair out of their face, and these are the photos that really sing…..I LOOOVE everything about this photo on the right! Andy you are a genius!!)

In your arms…it’s where I always want to be!! What I love so much about these two, is how even though we might have asked them to sit or stand in a certain place, how they held onto each other once there was all them and just so full of love.

Andy & I have been married for over 16 years and I think being able to laugh together is one of the things that has seen us through the ups and downs. Love how these two laugh together.

And so much love between them…

As if the sun could feel how brightly these two and their love for one another burns, we were treated to the most beautiful sunset as the session wound to a close.

See what I mean about how these two touch each other…fingers intertwined like branches of two trees standing beside one another, making it hard to know where one begins and the other ends.

E0324_0293Amanda & Kevin . . . . thank you soooooooo much for inviting us to share in this exciting, love-filled time in your lives. You two are wonderful and we absolutely loved spending the afternoon with you and photographing you together. Can’t wait to do it all again next summer! Until then, we hope these photos serve to keep all the happy feelings flowing! Big love & hugs, Christine & Andy  (*A great big, heart-felt thank you to Annie & Brian for spreading the bello love and sending Amanda & Kevin our way! We just love when our special, totally smitten couples send other equally special and smitten couples our way! xoxo)

Sunset at Brewster Flats with Liz & Travis

E0291_0014

Liz had been working with Audrey in labor and delivery at Greenwich Hospital for a little over a year when, one day, Audrey asked Liz if she might be interested in meeting her son, Travis, a handsome clothing designer and entrepreneur. Liz wasn’t dating anyone herself at the time.  “So, I thought, ‘Sure, why not,” she told us.

The two began messaging via Facebook and eventually arranged to meet at a local restaurant/bar for some drinks. “On our first date, we sat and talked for three hours,” Liz said. ” On our second date, we sat and talked until after 2am, after five hours.”

An instant friendship was formed, and over the course of the next year, the two spent more and more time together, eventually finding themselves rather inseparable.

Travis admits, the boyfriend/girlfriend part of their relationship didn’t happen right away. “When we first met, I was in the middle of starting my own company (Tora Clothing) and wasn’t open to a relationship,” he said. “Despite that, Liz and I ended up hanging out on a regular basis and slowly, I realized she meant more to me than just a friend.”

Like his company, his love for Liz grew and blossomed and now this smitten pair is planning their Cape Cod wedding. They will say “I do!” later this fall at the stunning Wequassett Resort in Harwich. We met up with them last weekend for their bello love session. We were already excited to be a part of their wedding…having chatted for ages both on the phone and during a meeting last year…but after our most recent time together, now, we’re just giddy with excitement.

See for yourself….the adorableness that is dripping off these two lovies!

01 red chair

We started out at Hopkins Bakery in Brewster, which we were told makes amazing stuff. It’s also just down the road from Liz’s parents’ summer cottage. Sadly, it was closed when we got together, so the only sweetness we were treated to was that which Liz & Travis were serving up.

E0291_0044

Such sweetness it was too….

E0291_0077

Hello hotties….oh, and Travis’s cool shirt is his own Tora creation. (I secretly wanted to be a fashion designer…and took a bunch of elective classes in college. Just didn’t believe it was something I could really do. Hmmm…..hey Travis, need a women’s line???? )

E0291_0078

After some fun at the bakery, we headed to the beach for sunset. The sky was filled with low lying clouds, which produced the most heavenly light, making pretty candids like this easy pickings….

03 sand

And the rippled sand at the Brewster flats…I just can’t…the awesomeness of those lines is off the hook! Add in an adorably happy couple and well….

E0291_0192

Liz & Travis, thank you both so much for being so sweet, and so much fun to not only photograph, but just generally be around. You two are delightful together and as individuals and we’re so happy your mom, Travis, made this love connection. We can’t wait to meet her and give her a big hug! Special thanks too to Liz’s lovely folks, Jane & Steve, who are so sweet. We’re so sorry we couldn’t stay for some pizza with you all, though we very much appreciate the invite and hope to have a rain check! For now, we hope you all enjoy this little sneak peek…more to follow soon! Until then, big love & hugs, Chris & Andy xoxo

Katie & Richie’s Falmouth Engagement Session ~ Cape Cod Photographers

nobska engagement session

We call them Love Sessions for a reason….because we absolutely LOVE doing them. Well, that’s not entirely true. We do love getting to photograph our couples during that exciting and anticipatory time before their wedding. But, really, the engagement sessions, or love sessions, as we like to call them, offer a great way for us to get to know our new couples better before their big day, and for them to relax and feel comfortable with us and in front of our cameras, because let’s face it…..most of us are not terribly comfortable when someone points a camera at us expectantly. I know I’m certainly not, and neither is Andy.

Katie and Richie, however, seemed perfectly at home in front of our cameras and the camera obviously loves them! Toward the end of our time together, Richie was saying he was going to leave his job and go into modeling full time (yes, it was said tongue in cheek, but we think it’s not a far fetched idea!). And, Katie, as a former Miss Massachusetts, well, she seemed to have no problem being in the spotlight…especially when sharing the spotlight with her sweet mister! Photographing them together was soooooooo much fun!

Happily, this was not Katie & Richie’s first time in front of our cameras. We first met them last summer, at the Bourne Farm wedding of Richie’s super sweet sister, Kerri. Click HERE for a peek.

We had so much fun with Kerri & Ritchie’s family, who are seriously the sweetest people on the planet! So warm, welcoming, full of love, warmth and just so ready to have fun! And, after having now met Katie’s equally wonderful parents, we just know that Katie & Richie’s Wequassett wedding this summer is going to be a love-fest of epic proportions!!! And, we can’t wait to be there to share in and document all that love and goodness!!!

We got together with Katie & Richie last weekend at Nobska Lighthouse, a place near and dear to them. Both families have homes here in Falmouth, and they try to come down as often as they can during the summer, so it seemed the perfect place to tell their story.

So, without further ado…say hello to Katie & Richie….

Come on….are they adorable or what? Some of my favorite photos from our love sessions are captured during those in between moments, when our couples aren’t entirely aware of us or our cameras.

Katie & Richie…thank you both so much for spending the evening with us and for sharing your beautiful love in such a open way. You guys are adorable together and we had so much fun with you both! Andy & I cannot wait to be there with you when you say, “I do!” in a couple of months. We expect there will be lots of love, celebration and happy tears (perhaps my own). Until then, we hope you enjoy this sneak peek from our time together. More to follow soon! Big love & hugs, Christine & Andy xoxo
