Lauren & Andrew met more than 4 years ago at a party in New York. The connection they made that night in the West Village naturally led to friendship, which over a bit of time blossomed into romance. A few weeks ago, that love led them straight down the aisle at Holy Trinity Church in Harwich. And, the party that followed the “I dos!” at the beautiful Wequassett Resort in Chatham was definitely one for the memory books.
The day started at the Chatham Bars Inn, where Lauren & Andrew were getting ready with their besties. We all gathered at the Wequassett for their first look. Andy & I are loving how many couples are wanting to do the first look and get all of their family/bridal party photos done before the ceremony, so they can really enjoy their cocktail hour.
The weather was picture perfect….the kind of summer day one dreams of when planning a Cape Cod summer wedding. We have seriously had THE BEST weather this summer. Our calendar was fully booked for August, with weddings & rehearsal dinners every weekend, plus a few family sessions thrown in for good measure, and we were worried. August is typically pretty steamy, muggy, and HOT, but this August was perfect! I can’t remember having such a glorious, mild summer.
Although the weather was lovely, what really made the day special was the connection Lauren & Andrew have with one another and with their families & friends. Here’s a quick peek at their wedding…
Katrina Hess did Lauren’s make up….can we talk about her crazy beautiful eyes for a second?? Stunning!!! Stacey Khuen did her beautiful hair. And, her gorgeous Elizabeth Fillmore dress completed the vision of loveliness! Lauren works in the fashion industry and her wedding dress was Vogue fabulous!
Lauren & her lovely ladies, including baby sis, Kaitlin (left) and besties Kacey & Jessica. Her stunning bouquet was courtesy of Sayles Livingston Flowers in RI.
I loved watching Lauren reapply her lipstick in the limo on the way to the church and couldn’t resist stealing this classic moment…pout-a-licious perfection!
A little Pappy Van Winkle’s bourbon toast to kick of the day with Andrew and his fellas.
Love the way the chandelier was reflecting in the wall mirror in this candid moment.
Andrew works on his bow tie.
The groomsmen, including Andrew’s twin, John (on Andrew’s left side), and Lauren’s older brother, Ryan (far right, next to John).
That first look moment and the happy anticipation….LOVE it!
Yaaaay…we’re about to get married.
Happy, beautiful, soon-to-be married….
Let’s go say, “I do!”….
This could be one of my favorite recent photos. Normally, the stained glass windows at Holy Trinity can be challenging to deal with, as they cast some crazy colors on everything during the ceremony. But, in this quiet moment, as Lauren gets some help adjusting her veil before heading down the aisle, the window created the most glorious light and color cast….as if the angels in heaven were shining down blessing the moment. LOOOVEEEE it!
Here we go…..Lauren gets ushered by her proud papa, Kirk, as guests look on with happy, love-filled faces. Be still my heart!
And, here, is where the next happy chapter begins…
With this ring, I happily thee wed.
And, with a kiss, the promise is sealed.
Stealing one more for good measure, in the limo back to Wequassett…let the party begin!
But, first a little alone time with our new Mr. & Mrs.
And, they’re super sweet bridal party! Loooved the colors cast by the setting sun, and the barely visible rising moon!
Although he didn’t want to join us for the group photo, we were able to capture this sweet candid moment with Lauren & Andrew’s adorable ring bearer, Joseph, and his happy-to-smile-for-the-camera big sister, Isabela. Hello cuties!!
A quick stroll with our happy couple.
The sun had set, but the light was still delicious for a couple of quick portraits on the Wequassett’s dock.
As the band, Kahootz prepares to rock the house…
Some reception details…
Cocktail hour and the setting sun…
The evening ended with a serenade of rose petals tossed at our happy couple…
Lauren & Andrew, thank you and your families so much for including us in your incredible wedding day. We have loved getting to know you both this past year and it was truly an honor to be there with you as you start this next happy chapter together. We hope you enjoy this little sneak peek and that these photos (and the MANY others soon to follow) serve as happy reminder for many, MANY happy years yet to come! Big love & hugs, Chris & Andy xoxo
