We’d only met Marisa & Justin the day before their wedding, when we photographed their rehearsal dinner. Right away, we were smitten. They are such lovely individuals and an absolutely wonderful couple ~ kind, fun, funny, warm and totally welcoming. We had a great time getting to know them and their families and friends the night before their wedding and were super excited to return to the Wequassett Resort the following day for the big event.

As if the Universe was giving its stamp of approval for these two, it was a picture perfect summer day as they said, “I do!” with Cape Cod Bay as the backdrop. Justin walked down the aisle with his super sweet son, 8-year-old Jackson. And, Marisa, on the arms of of her parents, Ron & Marilyn. Marisa’s best girlfriends, Allison, Abby & Gisela served as bridesmaids and Justin’s big brother, Joe, was best man. Super sweeties Leah & Maggie were junior bridesmaids and Charlotte, Elle and Olivia were flower girls.

It was a real family affair and love was most definitely in the air. Here’s a look at some of our favorite moments from their spectacular day…

Gisela putting a little gloss on her gorgeous daughter/flower girl, Elle. Love these candid moments!!

All smiles as Justin & Jackson wait to see Marisa for the first time….

So much love shared between these three. I got weepy more than once witnessing all that beautiful love!

Marisa & Justin first met more than 10 years ago, but fate took them in different directions, before reuniting them in love. Swoon!

Love the look of pride on Marisa’s sweet dad’s face (left) as Elle & Charlotte rock their flower girl roles.

Justin could barely contain himself as Marisa came down the aisle on the arms of her parents. He had to look away for a second. I’m not sure Jackson knew what to make of his dad’s reaction. Just so sweet!

here comes the bride

Taking in all the love swirling around and shared between them…

The look of love…

Their beautiful ceremony inspired happy tears from friends & family and caused loved ones to move in closer.

Marisa & Justin incorporated a really sweet sand ceremony into their wedding, with Jackson’s help.

A box with a glass front, etched with their likenesses and the words “Blended together in love” held different colored sand that each of them poured into the box together. It was just one of many sweet moments these three shared.

I think what made this wedding so special was that Justin & Marisa really didn’t make it all about them….it was about all three of them. And that was made crystal clear when Marisa read special vows she’d written just for Jackson. I was trying very hard to hold it together at this point…so was everyone! It was such a beautiful, heartfelt and completely genuine moment of love. It felt as if no one else in the world existed in that moment except these three beautiful people.

And with a kiss, it was official. Three hearts forever joined in love. Woooo hooo!

Smiles and hugs and happy congratulations from family & friends followed.

Then a little alone time for our sweet new Mr. & Mrs.

Yaaaay for love….for family and for happily ever after!

Their reception followed at Wequassett’s intimate, poolside Outer Bar & Grille, which looks super snazzy thanks to some stunning renovations.

Some of the pretty details…

Nom Nom….what’s better than a Cape Cod wedding infused with oodles of love and served alongside a raw bar? Not much!

Justin making everyone feel welcome and appreciated…such a sweet guy!

Happiness was another theme on this lovely day.

Smiles from Justin’s proud parents, George & Mary. Such nice people!! It’s no wonder Justin is the way he is!

Making a big entrance, Marisa’s lovely folks, Ron & Marilyn.

co-MOH, Allison getting a big high five from a very excited Olivia after making an entrance into the reception. Charlotte waits in the wings for her high five from her lovely momma.

The new happy family….wooo hoooo!

And into their first dance as husband & wife. Think they’re happy about it?

Ummmm…I’d say, “YES!”

Family & friends looking on…

Taking in the love here are Allison & her oldest daughter, junior bridesmaid, Maggie. I love how Allison is also holding Charlotte’s hand too. I clearly don’t know her well, but from what I could see, Allison is all heart and an awesome mom!

This….this is how we want marriage to feel all the time!! Unfortunately, it doesn’t (lol), so we soak in every inch of these moments and come back to them when life and love gets hard.

Love this sweet moment as Marisa tenderly touches her dad’s hand as he gives the first toast of the evening.

Gisela sharing loving words for the happy couple.

Joe taking it all in….

In your arms is where I always want to be…

These two make each other smile and laugh….

…and their beautiful love is deliciously infectious!

Showing off a bit of their fun side…

This.

Easy, breezy…beautiful. Can we talk about gorgeous Marisa & her stunning dress for just a sec??? Hummuna hummuna!

GaGaGorgeous!

The kids feeling very excited about the cake cutting. love it!

The father-daughter dance. Be still my daddy-loving heart!

Justin’s sweet mom seemed to keep avoiding my camera, turning every time she spun around to me…but I caught her. You gotta get up preeeeetty early to pull one over on me! Nice try, Mary! xx

As dinner winds down, some of Justin’s posse heads outside for a puff on some fine cigars.

A fun perspective on the moment…

Justin & his sweet sis, Jenny, get down on it with Marisa’s mom.

This crew was SOOOOO fun on the dance floor. Even the kids, many under the age of 8, knew all the lyrics and were even busting out some of the original dance moves to classic 80s dance/rock tunes. Andy & I were well impressed!! He said to me, “How the heck do these kids know the lyrics?” And I said, clearly they have verrrry cool parents!!

Jackson had some killer dance moves too….breaking it down with his buddy.

Charlotte was killing me…this kid did NOT stop all night and she can dance!! And, she & Maggie knew all the lyrics to some classics. Love them!!!!

missus kisses…

Our happy couple, surrounded by loved ones, singing, what else….Journey’s classic “Don’t Stop Believing,” as the party winds to a bittersweet close.
