Katie & Richie’s Wequassett Wedding ~ Cape Cod Photographers

Katie & Richie met six years ago, while they were both in college and visiting the Cape with friends. “I was having ice cream with my best friend Jenna in the Mashpee Commons, when we ran into Jenna’s friend Kayla, and her friend Richie,” Katie told us. “I remember talking to them both and saying to Jenna….’Wow, who is that Richie guy? He is so cute!'”
It wasn’t until a few years later that they met again, while bowling with the same group of friends…and like any good love story….sparks flew.
“It’s funny how the universe has its way of bringing people into your life when you least expect it. I can honestly say that after a few dates with Rich, I felt as though I had known him for my whole life,” Katie said.
Last month, Katie & Richie committed their lives & hearts to one another, surrounded by family & friends at the beautiful seaside Wequassett Resort in Harwich.
Their wedding was the stuff from which fairytales are made…and for us it was also a sort of homecoming. Last summer, we had the pleasure of photographing the equally amazing wedding of Richie’s big sister, Kerri. You can read more about Kerri & her sweet hubs Billy HERE.
We really hit it off with Richie’s family right away and fell just as hard for Katie’s super sweet, incredibly loving, warm, and wonderful family. Seeing these two incredible families merge was such a treat.
There were so many incredible, love-filled moments that peppered their day, it was reeeealllly hard to pick just a handful to highlight here. As I write this post, I keep feeling like there’s so much more to share. But, we don’t want to make Katie, Richie & their families wait any longer, so here’s just a few of our favorite moments from the day….
Katie sliding into her crazy beautiful Monique Lhuillier gown, with help from her lovely sisters, Lauren & Kristen.

Is she gorgeous or what? Hair by the talented Rob Martelli of Avanti Salon and make up by Karen Colon.

Katie’s cousin’s daughter, Kerryn, was the cutest flower girl ever! Just love this adorable moment shared by these sweet ladies. Kerryn was a little too shy to give a kiss, but so happy to be having her photo taken with her beautiful cousin.

Sweet sisters…..so much beauty inside & out!

Meanwhile, in another room at Wequassett, Richie got ready with his buds. Love this quiet moment before the happy chaos begins….

Putting on their ties…

Getting a little help pinning on his boutonnière by big brother and best man, Mike, while their handsome papa, Mike looks on.

Friends and family arrive for the ceremony….let the love shine bright!

Richie and his bestie get ready to head down the aisle….love these big beautiful smiles! So much happiness at this wedding!

Ready to make his favorite girl his wife, Richie makes his way to the altar…..

Kerry takes her job as flower girl very seriously….scattering petals and looking very much a princess. So beautiful!

And here comes the bride….beautiful, happy, wonderful Katie on the arm of her big softie of a dad, Butch. Their faces say it all…

One of my favorite moments of the day…the hand off, where the happiness is just contagious!

Richie is such a sweet pea, and so obviously smitten with Katie. Just look at the way he’s looking at her. Be still my heart! And, Katie, obviously feels the same about her man….just beaming as she watches him during their vows. LOVE!!!

I can only imagine how amazing this moment feels as a parent, when you watch your baby, all grown up, commit their life and heart to someone you just know is going to love her like you do. Katie’s parents, Sue & Butch, certainly seem to approve of this union and the looks on their beautiful faces make my heart smile….BIG.

Happy. Happy…and more happy!

With a kiss and a smile…it’s official!

Wooo hooo!! Yaaay for love!!!

After the ceremony ends and their bridal party and guests begin to leave, Katie & Richie steal another kiss…so stinkin’ cute!

Richie’s parents & grandmother leave the ceremony, with Katie’s Godparents behind. So much joy.

Katie gets a big hug from her momma…

Richie & his BIL, Billy, share a big brotherly hug.

Celebrating with flower petals….wooo hoooo!

Kerryn watching as Katie & her bridesmaids get their photo taken….would love to know what was going through her mind in this moment.

The happy couple….

Another stolen moment….

These two love so big & so hard. It’s beautiful to behold.

Sunset and big smiles…

sexy kisses for the new mr. & mrs.

Beautiful blushing bride & blush bouquets…

Heading to cocktail hour….love the train on her gorgeous gown!

Katie’s dad, Butch having fun with some friends during cocktail hour.

Katie’s mom, Sue, is co-owner of Essentials on Main, a new boutique in Easton. Her partner, Sheryl Hoey, runs Floral Effects at Essentials on Main, and was responsible for all the gorgeous flowers at the wedding. Both Sue & Sheryl together with Katie, put together a stunning decor for the day, with gold and blush touches everywhere. So pretty.

As a picture-perfect late summer day came to a close, the party was just beginning to heat up.

Introducing the new Mr. & Mrs…..wooo hoo!

Their first dance was full of smiles and singing to one another. Love these two!!

And, sealed with a kiss.

Lauren & Kristen’s MOH speech (with an impromptu rap) had everyone in stitches! Good job ladies!

Katie & Richie’s moms react to the speeches….priceless!

Kaite & Richie react too….hysterical!

Our former bello bride Kerri…love her!

During their mother/son dance, Richie was all smiles (and a few happy tears). Just the sweetest!!!!

A perfect day ends with a perfect night!

Katie & Richie….thank you both so much for including us in your incredible wedding day!! We have loved getting to know you both over the past year and feel so honored to have been part of such a special time in your lives and the lives of your incredible families! You two are so blessed to have so much love in your lives and we hope these beautiful moments reflect that! Cannot wait to share the rest with you very soon! Until then, we hope you love these photos as much as we loved being there to capture them! Big love & hugs, Christine & Andy xo
