A few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of being there with Liz & John, as they said, “I do!” surrounded by family & friends. It was a picture perfect Cape Cod summer afternoon. Their ceremony was held at Our Lady of Victory, led by the wonderful Father Mark Hession, and their reception followed at the beautiful Oyster Harbors Club in Osterville.
You may remember Liz & John from our love session with them last fall. Click HERE for a peek. John’s super sweet mom, Betty, is the sister of one of our past MOBs (Linda). Her crazy cute daughter Meghan and her hubby Mike also married at Oyster Harbors a few years ago. Click HERE For a look at their special day.
We just love when families invite back to share in more milestone moments. It really is THE greatest compliment there is as photographers.
So, without further ado, here are just a few of our favorite moments from Liz & John’s spectacular Cape Cod wedding:
Liz gets a little help from her sisters & MOHs, Sarah & Kathryn. This pearl bracelet was Liz’s something borrowed, from her mom. So sweet.
John gets ready along with his sister, Anne, and her oldest, Aidan. Just love Aidan’s expression…not sure if she was saying something or reacting to how handsome her uncle was looking, but I like to think it’s the latter.
Liz heads out to take some photos with her girls. What is it about an open front porch door that makes my heart smile? Maybe the idea that a front porch is where families gather for photographs, where we welcome visitors and slow down with an ice cold lemonade to take stock of our blessings. Or maybe they just look good…either way, I love me a front porch and a squeaky screen door!
Liz and her super sweet mom & dad, Mary & Bill. Happy day!
John pours a little wedding day libations for his boys…easy on the pour there mate, you still gotta walk down the aisle.
Cheers…here’s to good friends and days to remember.
Liz & her lovely ladies! I had such fun with the gorgeous group of gals!
Here comes the bride….seriously…do those grins say it all or what?
Love this moment during communion, when the focus is off the happy couple and they have a minute to look to one another and acknowledge what’s happening. Makes my heart smile…BIG!
I can hear organ music when I look at this next one…so dramatic, no? Ironically, Father Mark is the coolest priest I know. Very laid back, and makes his wedding ceremonies very personal. He’s not nearly as serious as he looks in this photo.
Checking out their new hardware…
The happy couple…
With a kiss and a gentle touch, my heart is yours forever.
Bright sunny days are great for Cape Cod weddings, but when the sun is high it can be tricking to find great light…a white covered porch is just what the photographers ordered.
goofing around. love it!
Liz and her sisters….love, love, love!
romance + rosa rugosa bushes = cape cod wedding perfection
Wooooo hooooo…..John & Liz get quite a reception as they head to their cocktail hour.
Friends enjoying the day…
Sarah and her sweet sister-in-law, Julia, share a moment during cocktail hour. Man, I love these unscripted moments!
Oyster Harbors dining room…so pretty.
Liz’s beautiful bouquet of blush & white English roses, peonies and other lovely bits put together by the uber talented Karen Taddei of Lilac Florals.
Love & (e)motion blend perfectly in this first dance moment…
You think John is happy? Ummm…yup!
Love the cute bow on Liz’s gorgeous Vera Wang dress and the monogram on John’s shirt cuff. A fun perspective of the first dance.
Liz gives her Dad, Bill, a great big hug after his warm welcome speech.
Love the expression on the face of Liz’s proud momma, Mary, as she listens to the speech by her other daughters, Liz’s co-MOHs, Kathryn & Sarah. The girls’ proud papa, Bill, is in the foreground.
John & Liz listen with full hearts and big smiles to the speeches…
John’s niece and crazy cute flower girl, Caroline, leans over the fence to pick some weeds…I mean flowers…during dinner. Love the tiptoes!
John & his crazy sweet momma, Betty, enjoy their mother-son dance. Ahhhhhhh…
One of Liz & John’s friends, Jeff, busts out some serious electric guitar moves on the dance floor. Love it when they do that!
John’s niece & the other flower girl extraordinaire, Caroline, enjoys herself on the dance floor. Can we talk about that smile for a second?
A beautiful ending to a beautiful day…
